LuciaGTAVI But isn't God of War set in Greek Mythology? The new God of War aka GOW4 is set to Nordic Mythology, following the sequel of Kratos, now bearded and old, but still strong as a Spartan oak. You should really watch the trailer.

You should really watch the trailer. I did see the trailer for your information. You shouldn't be so quick to assume the precedence of my question. A trailer doesn't explain "why?" I was questioning why they are mish-mashing two very different mythologies, Norse and Greek together, They both have very different cosmologies and narratives, but whatever Video-game logic, just because, apparently.

Director Cory Barlog said that he and his team found very similar things to both mythologies and apparently they could co-exist. Also the game takes place in pre-migration era wich is believed that Norse gods walked the Earth like humans do. If you ask me, they ran out of Olympic gods and moved on.

Thanks for the explanation and I agree with why they went to Norse Mythology. Plus mount Olympus is totally climbable, so maybe all gods walked the earth at some point and only a few of em said "fuck it" and left
