A demo was released, but only for Japan...  A lot of people are streaming it. Damn it! Why must it be Japan only?! i am verry jelly right now :C Sakurai: Pic of the day. Users in Japan, you can now download the demo for Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS! You can pick among 5 fighters with which to play. The stage is Battlefield, and the rules are fixed. There will be a few items and assist trophies available too. You can battle via local wireless, so have fun battling with your friends. For users outside of Japan, stay tuned for more news about the demo for Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS. Screen shot is from Japanese version.  The only mode available on the demo version is Smash, but I also left open a feature called Tips. Just remember to tap that button. You'll figure the rest out once you do.  EDIT: the 5 available characters in the demo version are: Mario, Megaman, Link, Pikachu, ans the Villager

Famitsu! Colors! Movesets! *heart attack* warchamp7.com/famitsu-viewomg, I really love all Rosalina's colors, but definitely maining purple!  I am loving the colors for Lucina also! I think I'll main either the Anna or Tiki costume!

thanks to people playing the 3ds demo i've been able to identify two more stages.
the unnamed stage i didn't know what it was is appearntly N's palace/temple/thing from Pokémon.
and Pictochat is making a return too
EDIT: Make that 3.... Mushroom Kingdom from Brawl is making its return too
EDIT: so some of the top tournament smash player have played the 3ds demo and been comparing some stuff i have compiled a short list:
smash bros for 3ds (and wiiU too presumably) has received some major nerfing and major buffing
- No more chaingrabbing.
- when trying to ledgegaurd you will not have invincibility frames and as we know you can know people of the ledge without damaging them
> you will only receive ledge invincibility 1st ledge grab.
> need to stand on the platform again to receive invincibility on the ledge again
> ledge invinicibility does not mean you can't be trumped of the ledge
- ledges are less magnetised from brawl
> so it's a tad harder to grab onto a ledge
> not as harsh as in melee or N64 though
- Link has been Buffed
- Mario has received major buff
- Pikachu has received buff
so basically they want to have a bigger focus on batling it out and not using cheap ledgeguarding/chaingrabbing tricks to win.

Well, the game is officially out in Japan now.
But my 3DS isn't arriving until next week...
I knew I should've ordered it sooner...

Codes for the Demo have been sent to people with Platinum Status (last year) on Club Nintendo.
Each person is getting four different codes for the Demo.
I'm only at Gold... But maybe I had Platinum before (hopefully)...
Time to beg people on the internet for a code!

i see your char select screen snipz and i raise you a tanooki megaman!  also link is amazing in this version of smash <3 I LOVE IT!!! the "special" demo is basically the Japanese demo translated. the demo next week might be different...
