So I am having this EXTREMELY annoying glitch in 3DS Max, I am Creating a Master Chief mod to replace Chris's snow suit (and yes I will release him once I finish ) HOWEVER, whenever I apply the "Skin Wrap" modifier on Chief and when It starts to work, the whole program (3DS Max) just crashes. I have no idea why this is happening to this one particular model, I have used the skin modifier before and it never made any crashes, it just does not work for Chief for some odd reason. But I MUST SAY, Master Chief is one WHOLE model (it is not cut up into tiny pieces like the head, arms etc) Could this be a problem? I would upload some pictures but for some reason this site is not allowing me to do so.. Please tell me if there are any ways to fix this problem, if there is anything I should change to the mesh.... Help will be MUCH appreciated

But I fixed this problem last night, when I cleared some unnecessary vertices and I changed the size of the model a bit, the skin modifier was working, but it did not weight all the vertices even when I had the "weight all vertices" option on. I think this will do though, I can just weight the rest of the vertices manually. Thank you for responding

Good to know that you got this fixed, I was curious because mine always freezes for about a minute or so then it works.

hi addbue I did that mod but it is not a problem of weigh in the vertices is a problem with the mesh. It is torn into many pieces. I tried many times but always there was a big black line coming from the chest. I rig it manually 4 or 5 times, but it is not the problem. I exported the file to milk-shape and it is all over the place. Good luck with that. And about 3ds max there is something wrong with the script that crashes 3ds but after many times having a different problem. Ex: tv vertex out of range, no function for true, the vertex count is off and so on. If you get several errors in one mod 3ds generates a report and tries to send it to the base. That's why it crashers. I recommend you to restart your pc That will clear out so many stuff in the cpu.

When you say you did Master Chief before, what model of Master Chief did you do? was his model from Halo 4 or Halo 3? And, did you already get him finished? Or could you not finish him because of the problems you had on Milk-shape? And thank you for the advice, I will restart my computer whenever my 3ds acts up.
