How do I set which melee attacks I want characters to use? For example: if I choose Carlos, I want him to have the shoulder tackle instead of Chris's haymaker. Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated.

There is a melee swap tool made by wilsonso. You have to extract the character arc them look for pl00act Extract it using melee tool and change the melee you want. There is a text file explaining where is the right melee for every character.

I found the pl00 folder as well since you taught me how to extract arc files. I don't know how to change specific attacks though.

together with melee tool there is a video tutorial. is not so hard to do it. i learned this week how to make melee swaps.

Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated. I've watched this video a couple of times and it doesn't explain how I can set what melees I want. For example, I want Carlos to have the Iron Tackle move but I don't know how to set that for him. The tutorial pretty much only explains how to replace Wesker's moves with a different one he already has. Does anyone know of a clearer tutorial on how I can choose what melees I want my characters to have?

you have to extract both archive first in your case Chris Archive and Josh Archive and then use the lmt tools to extract both .lmt file which this case is pl00action and pl04action and then inside the pl04action copy all of the pl04action_008 only the 3 mot files not the atk and atkindex and then rename the pl04action_008 to pl00action_006 3 of em and then put those files that has been renamed into pl00action repack the folder into lmt files put inside chris archive and it should change the haymaker into iron_tackle

The new issue I'm having is that some of these attacks are not hitting he enemies. Any way I can fix this?

it should hit the enemies if you didn't change the atk files if you did you have to revert back using chris atk files cause the atk files from another character will not connect cause it used a different .hit files
atk is for the hitbox it cause it connected with pl00hit atkindex is for the sound and 3 .mot files are the animation
you can also modify how it should hit the enemy using hex on .hit files

ok i think i know how its not hitting you shouldn't replace both atk or atkindex just change the animation with the .mot files however you can indeed change the hitbox inside .hit files tho but if you do take the atkindex or atk files from a different character lmt and put on another character lmt it surely is not working because both of the atk and atkindex is connected with the .hit files
for example
pl00action_003.atk <-- this hitbox files will only connected to pl00.hit and will not work with other .hit files pl00action_003.atkindex <-- this sound files will only play inside pl00 because its using pl00.hit
you can however play the same sound with a different move by renaming the files from pl00action_003.atkindex --> into pl00action_004.atkindex so when pl00action_004.atkindex move is played the sound will be the same as pl00action_003.atkindex
if you do this from pl03action_001.atk and then renaming it into pl00action_001.atk the hitbox it will not work because the header and .hit is different

injection melee doesn't work cause you need to also change the enemy reaction within the lmt files if enemy reaction inside the lmt files doesn't existed then you can't make the melee that is connected to certain animation

And would this also be what I would have to do to fix the Majini reaction to the slap?

about the slap you have to find the correct header inside the .hit files and replace it with excella header files using Hex Format
