Hello everyone, I created a randomizer for RE0. It was my first reverse engineering project and I had so much fun reverse engineering RE0 and constructing the randomizer. The Randomizer creates a config file, which will place key items in a way, that you will always be able to play through. Given my noob status in reverse engineering, I relied on Cheat Engine for developing this randomizer. Maybe I will switch to frieda in the future to prevent false positives - but for now, you can find the randomizer on GitHub: github.com/HansRandomizer/Resident-Evil-0-RandomizerI am excited to see anyone having fun with it. There is a chance your game will freeze while running. I am working on a fix and will release it soon. This supports enemy randomization and I made some UI changes. Hans

Hello! I'm very excited to have a Zero randomizer in progress after so long! However I keep running into an issue with the latest release in which I go to pick up an item and the game just stops. It keeps running, but the item menu never opens, and I can't do anything without closing the cheat engine via Task Manager, which of course unrandomizes the items. I was wondering if this was a known issue or if I somehow did something wrong. In any case, I'm excited to see more from the mod. Thank you!

1.1.0 is released - introducing enemy randomization: github.com/HansRandomizer/Resident-Evil-0-Randomizer/releases/tag/1.1.0jalawahiska, I am aware of this issue. It seems to happen when there's a crash in one of the lua scripts running in the background. These scripts, they handle things like randomizing item IDs, keeping track of dropped items, and so on. If there's an issue in these scripts, the game can freeze. This is because the problematic lua script prevents the game from moving forward. While I see these issues quite often during development, I always invest a lot of time before releasing to ensure it's stable for users. It would be very interesting to learn what happened. If you face crashes: 1. Please go to my GitHub page and create an issue. It helps me a lot. 2. Attach the config file and logs from your session. You'll always find a log window active when you're using the randomizer. 3. Look in your task manager, maybe you find multiple instances of CheatEngine or the RE0 randomizer. There is a known issue with CheatEngine – sometimes it doesn't close properly. Restart everything and give it another try. 4. If it keeps happening, maybe try a new config. Make sure both the config and randomizer versions are a match. I always make sure to release versions that should work together."
