Hi, I had similar idea and also for title screen "scream", etc.. we can workaround audio issues, but still we have a problem to solve:
RE1HD Remake intro is 3:13, RE1 (1996) full and uncut intro is ~3:50. Modified .wmv and .sngw should be same (3:13) or shorter length. Anything longer, just stops playing at 3:13. This case is same for any .wmv.
Somewhere have to be additional files (or even some values in .exe) related to FMV playback and needs to be modified (after understanding what exactly to change).

CAST cut is a huge loss . Something wrong with your .sngw audio, export audio (from this shorter Intro) and upload here without any modifications. AV sync is a bit weird thing how it works on game, you get 48khz 5.1 channels and if lucky it works, if not have to change track speed modifying in Audacity. Also videos _s for Original (4:3), _b for Wide (16:9). EDIT: Try this openingLR_51.sngw (full RESIDENT EVIL (1996) Intro audio re-modded). You gonna convert to .wmv all FMV's with actors (Title Screen "scream", Intro Movie, Endings)?

WORKS - 2s000ms with empty black video and no audio at the beginning, but it's better since the video is cut at his end !! I will need help to fix sound for the two Menu footage replacements (advatise00.sngw // advatise01.sngw), it's speeded-up so i missed something, the intro works allright !!

Some info: Any video can be shorter (just can't be longer)!Advertisement videos could be cut, e.g. making video just "black" screen 1 second long video or even 1ms. Metadata don't really matters in FMV's! Only matters for in-gameplay audios, mainly for loop points.
I think Intro should be ~3:00, since the part "There are only 3 S.T.A.R.S. members left.." is gameplay cutscene in Remake.
Just make all videos, then send me audio files if they don't work (unedited audios!).

I'll remove one frame on each and report, will do it with audacity too to match audios times from game files (001ms more than their video counterpart !). Yes i noted that,right.

I checked your newly uploaded Intro FMV mod. Is not good to use 5.1 track for stereo (2 channels ok, but others silence). In this case, you hear, is only in left ear.. not even talking about anyone actually using 5.1 audio systems. Better have stereo, or modify all channels and fill up with tracks with adjusted "volume" VS original.
EDIT: I mean, modded videos don't have to be exactly same length, could be shorter! Example: If .wmv in Remake is 3:13 long, is maximum length.

Well, i found i set 48hz to the two fottages videos in Audacity, but export kept 37hz, so i will try by that setting and i have done new too, but i'll have to handle Audacity samplerate (confirm or whatever it needs) before !!! Many thanks, advatise00 (aka CAST) audio you fixed works, intro audio too fixed, thanks again. // It's in Japanes to add "rare" footage to, and the video beeing 27s they don't talk much, dialogue is like : Your family ? Yes, bla-bla... they will survive. Tired ? Yes ! I have the ENG audios exacts same cuts too, i can merge those and and give you too if you prefer (without fades !!), also i lked J voices better ! LINK (placeholder) // Couldn't you fix advatise01 ? It's the JAP voiced file !// The audio files you made are not at all reported by mediainfo beeing the same duration (like 9min for 3min's mine intro, mine worked too BTW), but it works, i don't know what has been done to it, thanks (i'm done with audio editing, i dislike this part, i don't have knowledge). advatise01 - please !
