Hello,
Picked up REV along with a couple other RE entries in the recent Humble Bundle. Wanted to mess around with model editing, but failing to get a clean export from Blender 2.73 using this tool. By clean export, I mean just importing a character model, then exporting it without any changes and then using, essentially, the default model in game without any problems.
The problems occurring are that Mesh_35 seems to be full of wacky vertex groups that, when included in the export (LOD0 or default), cause the characters to be invisible in the game. Re-importing the exported mesh reveals weird vertex/face explosions in blender.
NOT including Mesh_35 allows a generally successful export, except that certain meshes are missing (that did not seem to actually be part of Mesh_35). In this case, the test guinea pig is Parker, and he is missing his eyeballs, the top of his head, and his watch. Opening it back up in blender shows that all the missing parts still exist, along with the excluded Mesh_35.
There seem to be no tutorials for this, and even the 3ds max version's tutorials seem to be posted by deleted accounts on here & the accompanying videos no longer available (despite pleas to Wayback Machine). I don't even have 3ds max, I just thought the tutorials might help since the tool is a port of a 3ds max tool. Of the multi-paged threads, "vertex explosion" and "missing parts" don't seem to be the errors people have encountered for either script.
I know the modding scene for REV seems to be dead, but anyone who used to mod it know how to export from Blender 2.7x without these issues? Willing to use different versions of Blender that the script still works on, went with 2.73 since the example screenshots were using that version. Any kind of lead would be appreciated.
Thanks.
