Really want to see more gameplay of this game Just scared they'll remove the best bits of the original on this remake.

Not too excited by this announcement, only because RE4 doesn't need a remake. Especially with the stellar fan mod now released, and since Shinji Mikami is not involved whatsoever.
Being a lifetime fan of the original, I will probably spend my entire playthrough thinking of how this or that is so different, or how this and that doesn't stack up to the original version. And given that Leon's voice actor is the same as RE2 Remake, that is already a major blow in my opinion. Paul Mercier's Leon will always be iconic to me, and I can't see this new actor living up to the sheer coolness of Paul's performance. RE2 Remake's Leon was an absolute bore, just like every RE instalment 'since' RE4. Capcom ruined all the charm the character once had, and it's a shame they are now retconning these earlier instalments to be just like newer ones. They're going to take this game's plot and characters way too seriously, and miss the point entirely.
Another issue I have is the removal of tank controls, now this has been a thing since RE6 and I can't for the life of me imagine why Capcom decided to make this change. Tank controls served a purpose, and made the gameplay both unique and very enjoyable. RE4 and 5's gunplay is still some of the best in gaming, because it was intuitive and easy to grasp. After RE6 copied every other third-person shooter on the market, it made the game that much more generic and made the gunplay nowhere near as fun or satisfying. Despite what some fans may whine about, tank controls are not "outdated". And even if they were, that didn't stop RE4 and RE5 from being some of the best selling games in the series.

Man, I gotta say that I wished that Mikami was involved again and could apply his original vision he had for the game before capcom ragged-dogged him to make an action game

Mikami seemed to be largely hands-off with RE4's earlier incarnations, but it got so bad that he had no choice but to step in and do what he had to in order to give the title the best chance of success. I think upper management just got tired of the project's continual restarts, and it likely became a money sink.
At least we got a fantastic game out of it, and it certainly put Mikami's name on the map more than ever before. At least it was the original director who was involved, and not some no-name guys that are remaking the game like they did RE2 and RE3. Even though the remakes modernized the gameplay, I barely remember a thing about them while I can remember the original titles beat-for-beat. Just goes to show.

I can honestly say that thinking Paul Merceir is not voicing leon in this remake is kind of a step down (for me at least) Not because he was iconic but it was i think a good transition for Resident Evil 2 to Resident Evil 4. we can hear how leon's voice aged from that game to this game. but oh well. i'm still excited nevertheless. RE4 was my favorite game of all time.\
EDIT - As the previous TGS 2022. The game will be also ported to PlayStation 4.
This is a favor to me as i don't have a PlayStation 5 or a High end PC. and i don't see myself getting a PS5 anytime soon so Yeah! Thank you CAPCOM!

Really looking forward to this one. By all accounts they are actually adding to the game to expand it and better fit the story into the overall RE storyline. Count me in as someone who hopes that they either ditch Krauser or significantly revamp his parts in the game.

I like Nick once again representing leon from RE2R, great choice, could be better than Paul, but obviously he wont be the merchant which is the saddest part (as he was also the merchant in the og game). I would like them to remove 5-4 from the game, everything else is fine, hoping to see same character development with ashley as it happened with sherry comparing RE2 original with the remake/reimagining. Looking forward for the release.

The showcase is fire! I can see some things that still faithful to the original (thank god) and some few new things which makes it more better and welcome to the lore of Resident Evil series! Dr. Salvador is creepier than the original :3 i can see how bloody this game is compare to 2005 version. also i can't stop laughing that Luis looks like Leon from Resident Evil Netflix Lol. i think it was Welcome To Raccoon? I dunno i didn't watch it lol.

I Hope they create a clássic re4 costume pack. I really like re4 remake clothes but we need that 2007 vibe.

I'm REALLY REALLY curious about what they're gonna do with the legendary Krauser knife-fight sequence. Krauser is the coolest character in the game. I'm hoping he gets more time in the remake so the betrayal that he captured Ashley is more impactful. This could fix the weird implied background the two characters have. Maybe we'll get to play as Leon in the whitehouse as a walking-sequence like RE8's long intro sequence. They love to add longer intros to the new RE titles and remakes so it's definitely a possiblity. We already got the cool shots of Leon and the President talking. I have very high hopes for this game. My only real concerns are that they omit Krauser completely, or make the game shorter by removing the amount of endless mobs that seem to go on forever in the original, or by making areas smaller in scale. What I mean is, turning a room of 12 enemies from the original into 6 enemies instead, and slightly scaling down the room so it seems more reasonable. It's a concern I have since the game looks so clean. It's good that it's not on PS4 so they can go all in with the resources to make the enemy mobs larger in scale. We all know that Gamecube had more enemies on screen than the PS2 version because of similar issues. Village had a lot of enemies on screen, but to be fair, this is a newer game on a new platform.
Not gonna lie to you; back when I first heard rumors of a remake, my first sentence was "God, I hope they take out Krauser completely." RE4 is probably my favorite game ever, but even since 2004 when it first came out, anytime characters were doing giant slow motion backflips and those QTE Matrix-style fight sequences, it always hurt a little inside having to endure those. That being said, I do love how much love you have for Krauser. That's what makes these games so fun is that everybody finds something different to appreciate. When it comes to RE, I always prefer when it leans more into horror than action, so for my own selfish purposes, I hope that's where the REmake is going.
I don't think I ever knew about the GameCube having more enemies onscreen than the PS2. That's very interesting. I only played the GC version back in the day. I'm hoping everything scales out similarly and they don't cut down the run time, either. I really enjoyed the RE2 REmake, and despite all of the hate, RE3 as well. Although, I do understand people wish it had been longer. But if it stays in the vein of the RE2 REmake, I could see myself being very happy with the end result.
Honestly krauser himself is an okay character, the problem a lot of people had with him is that every interaction with him was a string of QTEs. I actually think they are significantly changing that. My first thought when i saw the knife parry the chainsaw (as well as the smaller parries) is that they did this specifically to reduce cutscene QTEs in that portion of the game, as that could now be done via gameplay.
