So, basically, even if I add Barry's Samurai Edge into Jill's loadout, when I perform the melee, there is no gun in her hand. None of the weapons in my inventory disappear or anything like that, I just don't know how to make the animation include Barry's gun if I put it on Jill. I assume it's some sort of prop model that I have to add to her files, but I don't know much about modding.
That's because Barry doesn't use the Samurai Edge for melee, it's like Rebecca with the flame spray, these are not real weapons that you can use. It's his signature weapon, the silver serpent which is a magnum not a handgun.
They are attached to Barry so there is no way of swapping to another character.
Same goes with Excella's VP678W syringe, Rebecca's Flame spray and tear gas, and Barry's Silver serpent.
The game is programmed so that when performing melee, the equipped weapon is invisible. The game shows the knife for example which is the 10th weapon when performing Stab, Sheva's back leg melee, or Licker stab. It shows those special weapons for Excella, Rebecca and Barry when performing certain melee as well, since only them perform melee that needs those weapons. But i think it's hard coded that only the original character that has those melee will have correct weapon showing so i don't think it's possible..
The only way to make it work would be to have his samurai edge or any weapon equipped and (with the trainer) check "always show weapon". That way it will show the equipped weapon for this melee but will also show it for the other ones..
