Hello ,
first of all this mod is not my , i just wanted to report it here , it has been created by JacobMrox-Mrox2. This mod replace all inventory Icons with New ones in HD quality , the new images has been obtained by -examinable 3D models- inside inventory , really the right way to do it ! (^^) All sizes/proportions of HD Icons are correct and the Visual improvement bring is noticeable.
Here a Visual comparison prepared by me :

I did a similar thing some years back with my UI mod, although I wasn't really happy with the results. I think the better way to do it would be to examine the models in something like Blender rather than in-game (to avoid things like the obnoxious amount of bloom Capcom added). Even then, as is even more obvious with RE0's HD remaster (which was handled with a lot more care in general), the icons were drawn by hand originally.
Also, I forget exactly by how much, but you have to shrink the width of the icons when you saving them, as the game itself stretches them out. Compare the stretched ink ribbon on the Nexus screenshot (https://www.nexusmods.com/residentevilbiohazardhdremaster/mods/42) with the round one here (https://i.imgur.com/gkJ1NWq.png).

I didn't know game brought a stretch on inventory icons , anyway this mod is not my but of JacobMrox-Mrox2 , however even so it improves a lot the things since original icons by Capcom are really poor. Instead , about taking icons by in-game , i like that has been obtained in this way , i believe is right that icons are displayed exactly how the items are displayed in examine inventory (in-game) , i like the Bloom. (^^)
Now to fix that issue we should resave all icons with less width .. mmh , now i think to not have time to do this ! XD

Indeed, that's why I mostly use the pack you made, but I kinda took it to my own hands and compared the two available HD packs to the vanilla icons pack and added a few personal fixes to that, so it's a mix of 2 HD packs now, haha. I still stand by my opinion that you did an amazing amount of work on these and that your work is very comparable to the vanilla stuff.
A bit dumb is that roundness could be achieved only either for inventory screen or item box screen - icons get stretched differently for each screen.

Oh wow, do they? I never even noticed that the stretching differs on each screen. I wonder if that's true of the GameCube release or just some additional weirdness with this one.
Okay, yeah, so in both versions, the icons in the item box list are a lot more squished. Huh.
