Hi Forum Lately I've been trying to get into 3ds max. I thought I'd start with something somewhat easy. I successfully put Pyramides on Jill's shoulders ( looked pretty cool actually ) but now I'm having trouble with Jessica's diving suit. I tried to "remove" some parts of her gear by selecting the part in question, convert it to an editable mesh and scale it down, so that it disappears. Now when I'm done I export the Model and replace it with the default one. But whenever I reopen it in 3ds max she reverts to her default Model, as if I didn't do anything at all :/ As I already said: I just started using 3ds max and I can't follow darknessvaltier in his tutorial either. Any help is much appreciated.

i started off in milkshape... during my farcry modding i needed to add texture classes to some models tried plenty of times to do model adjustments i worked on small things like barrels boxes... Still not very good in 3D max but you do get use to it if your in there long enough, my advice would be to search tutorials work on small simple objects to start with... and ask on here which you have so hopefully someone with knowlege can giude you.
Seems complicated at first lots of things and not knowing thier purpose. lots of googling. but as i said when you learn bit and use them frequent enough it becomes natural to you, wish i knew enough to guide you im only a beginner in max.. if i can get away without using it i won't i don't have the patience to learn just yet.

Thank you for your reply. I know that I will get used to it once I've been using it frequently enough. I think the problem is, that creating small objects like boxes has nothing in common with editing a model and exporting it afterwards. I'm actually someone who doesn't give up so easily but it really freaks me out, that it doesn't apply my changes to the model.
