I stumbled upon some interesting information about the engine throughout the internet, and so far it seems that capcom is holding thigh on its new engine and making sure no one else besides its employees can use it, but it is not holding back on letting people know anything about the engine, so far I learned that re games are coded in C# so that's the language they are using in RE2R if that helps anyone interested in decompiling the scripts, it doesn't looks like there is any form of encryption on them, the engine is very modular, which explains the very scattered nature of its file system hierarchy, I found some japanese articles that contains pretty high resolution screen shots of the engine during the development of re7 they also organized a conference in 2019 showcasing all the feature of the engine, it is in japanese but you can turn on subtitles and auto translate to english, it gives quiet an in depth insight on how the engine works.
