Asking to verify, is this film timeline wise, taking place two years after resident evil 4 and one year after the CGI film, Degeneration?
and has Capcom said anything about the new character seen teaming up with Leon in this trailer?

Thanks for the link, I only had seen that info in Japanesse I keep geting the feelings of this being a long film with chapters cuts. But anyway, the 8 of July I'll re-activate my Netflix account, I don't want to miss this. Also watching that picture now I see why they brought the RE:Rev2 costume for Claire. Is the club of the leather jackets, YEAH!

The new female character Shen May, looks way too much like Claire Redfield; it really seems they simply reused her classic character design over again with very some small tweaks made to differentiate between the two of them. Oddly they also did this the last time around (introducing Angela Miller, a brunette with a pony tail, and like the upcoming film, another agent who is working with Leon) with the Degeneration film, except this time her double ganger, looks even more so like Claire, even down to her distinct identical hair style (but this time with black hair). Claire's differences this time around, seem to be from the decision to make her look more in-line with her character design from the Revelations series.
...The likely reason for the new character looking like her twin, is to cut time/money with the development of another new character... on one final note, it's crazy how many in the YouTube comments for this trailer are believing that this new character is in fact Ada Wong...
With that said it does look interesting, and I am hoping this will be a true direct sequel to Degeneration (and not just another story taking place with no tie-in to prior events in their established stories); hoping they continue with the things left open and unanswered at the end of that film and finally that Claire will be as much of a focus in this film as will certainly be the case with Leon.

Looks like they used Rebecca Chambers head model from RE:Vendetta to create Claire's head. She looks like Rebecca with thicker lips, more pointy jaw, and a ponytail. I think they also used Leon's head model to create that curly guy with square suit motif. He looks like Leon with wider eyes, thicker lips, stubble, and black curly hair.

verdugo7 I need to take a look at that, it would be interesting, if that is what they did to make the updated Claire... Also, Netflix just released another teaser for infinite darkness; it is the opening sequence, below is the link...

Today is the day. It has been 4 chapters of 25~ mins each one. So at the end it was another movie with a similar lenght than the previous ones. Don't know why spread it in chapters. O_ò Also the fears about they sidelining Claire are totally true, full dis-service for the Redfield queen. But despite the campy style, I felt it quite similar as the others we've seen in the previous CGI movies, I like them so I liked this one too. It could have been better? yeah sure, but I feel it keeps it following their own standards, and I enjoyed watching this new installment of the RE world. pros * Music finally returnning, some good tracks. * I liked they use many extras (Many soldiers, operators, staff, crowds, victims, etc...) to set the movie in a world instead of just an indie story of a small group in a single location. * Animation, graphics and camera work was nice for me. cons * I'm fine with Leon, but Claire's inclussion was poor and clumpsy, and I missed the addition of more RE characters. * Villains wasn't very impressive. * No battles coreographies like RE: Vendetta or Damnation. About the epilogue, I found it fun, I think that confrontation would be interesting to see if there were any future sequel. ¿Season 2?

I'll also share my thoughts since ı watched all chapters.
While ı like some of the callbacks to re4, re5 and re6; overall the movie felt very anti-climactic. The action scenes are just not that interesting compared to past cgi films' action scenes. I also dont understand the decision of splitting it into 4 parts.
Claire was just there and ı wasnt a fan of how she was handled in this. I feel like she was handled better in degeneration; she had better moments there.
As for leon; his voice just irritated me, ı wasnt a fan of nick's voice due to sounding too dull, not to mention he sounds way too young for an usstratcom agent in this. I wished they brought back paul mercier or matthew mercer to voice for leon but nope.
Another thing that disappointed me is there isnt any ada, simmons or even carla mention / cameo; it would have been even better connected to re6 since china is mentioned multiple times. Speaking of ada; if she was in this, the movie could have been more unique from others but just like vendetta, she doesnt appear in this.
Hunnigan is once again not seen in this which doesnt make sense. And it's set in the past for a weird reason.
Overall the movie just doesnt really bring that anything new or interesting to table; the previous cgi films are much better and overall more entertaining to watch than this.

Don't see their logic in breaking up the film into 4 parts... likely before the pandemic, they had planned to release this cg film before Village's release date like has been done with all recent numbered titles, but I guess Netflix at some point offered them money to release it instead, as a exclusive mini series. Hopefully, I can avoid any major spoilers before I get a chance to see it...

Update: Non-Spoiler Review
I just saw Infinite Darkness, and my first thoughts after seeing the movie or "mini series" as Netflix now calls it, is that it could have been a much better film. When the decision was made to break up the film, into episodes, this should have resulted in them also extending the time to tell their story. It really was a missed opportunity, had they done this, it could had given the development team, the necessary time to really flesh out their story and it could have given many moments in the film, the opportunity to breathe… I felt the story could have greatly benefited from spending more time with the characters and perhaps, having more of an ensemble cast story telling focus. It really felt like we had no moments (or more accurately, very few moments) to relate to or feel some attachment to any of the characters. Instead, the story seemed to be a bit in fast forward, and the mystery was gone and in it’s place we just jump into action... Without getting into any spoilers, I thought they should have delved into Leon's relationship with Ashley Graham's dad (seemed to be a missed opportunity) being that he and Leon are together in the film and for that matter, I really think, they could have spent some time with Graham's character letting us into his head space; and maybe even having the entire Graham family make an appearance (Also it would not of hurt them to have included others cast members from the Resident Evil Series; odd things like Leon having zero interactions with Ingrid Hunnigan (despite this being a constant after the events of Resident Evil 4) and Claire never interacting with her brother(just a odd missed opportunity as it would be logical for her to at least talk to him when she is in a jam; dealing w/ bioweapons is in his job description after all). Now to Claire Redfield, the writers, at least to me, don’t seem to not know what to do with her and if they do a sequel to the Infinite mini series (and I hope they do), I really hope they seek the input of people who where responsible for her character development (and popularity), people, who had worked on "Resident Evil: Code Veronica" and I would even include them consulting with Ashley Court (her voice actor for everything in the series excluding Revelations 2 and Resident Evil 2(2019)) to help them really capture the characters motivations/ essence). Even despite their decision, to not continue with her as the voice actor, they would greatly benefit from that insight... Lastly, for consistency/continuity/the immersion of their films, they really should have continued with the voice actors from what is in fact, the story that precedes this one in their timeline "Resident Evil Degeneration". The End result of this decision, is that it feels off... Had this story been written as something taking place sometime shortly after the events of the Resident Evil 2 retelling (2019)’s timeline or perhaps something like a new "reboot story" then I could see continuing the story with the new cast from the 2019 game for this film, but it really does not make any sense when trying to watch this story in the chronological order... just my two sense. Is it worth a watch?
Yes, but they could have done a better job of tying it into, what is it’s prequel story “Degeneration” (2008 CG film) which had the potential of making this film (mini series), an outstanding addition to what had came before it... The visuals (ever improving) and the music are great... lot of great ideas are introduced into the film... just for me, the story needed more refinement (and this includes the characters feeling a bit off the mark)...
One last thing:
pretty much agree w/ Adngel and Mert20004... some spot on criticisms....

This makes me wished that infinite darkness was set after re6 and continued some of the loose ends of that game's story.
It seems that they made the movie the way it is to promote a re4 reimagining or something. I mean it feels more connected to re4's story than it does to re6's story.
The fact that capcom's planning to reimagine a game that's been ported everywhere tells me everything ı need to know about them.
Not sure if ı should be glad that they are skipping recv since it wont be ruined like previous reimaginings not to mention ı like it more than re4 nowadays.
