UPDATE: since this project was taking too long to plan and to make, i decided to stop doing it for now. Started gettinf tired of working A LOT in a single area and very frustrated when something didn't work as planned. It's not cancelled since i don't know what can happen tomorrow, but i should at least warn everyone that this mod is not being developed for now.
very early development of my next project that i would like to share in this thread.
this will be focused on changing the story of resident evil 4, where leon starts hallucinating after being injected with las plagas and almost every map will have a second version that happens when leon hallucinates and those will be a lot different in all aspects.
some main stuff i will mess around with this project:
-inventory case items stack size.
-inventory case weapons space (rpg needing a 3x6 space, por example).
-different weapons parameters (firepower, firing speed and capacity).
-merchant will only appear on stores and you will need to use a shopping ticket to enter those.
-ink ribbon mechanic.
-stronger optional enemies will drop a nightmare key, which is a one time use for opening optional rooms and challenges, containing rewards in tickets, ammo and ptas. you'll only be able to get yellow herbs inside those (yellow herbs idea stolen from Ashe lol).
-new weapons, including an assault rifle and a bow (still not sure how i'll fix krauser's bow).
-lots of backtracking, some maps will turn into a hallucination version after some time.
-side missions
-new scenarios.
-new enemies (very early to confirm this one).
-new cutscenes (still only an idea, this will possibly be discarded).
-exclusive gameplay for NG+ to increase playtime, including a debug room, minigames and deleted content.
and more things i can potentially think of during the development.
NEW STUFF LATER ADDED (before discontinuing):
- new HP regeneration mechanic, that makes Leon slowly regenerate his HP as long as he is inside the pollen radius of a herb garden. You can keep the regeneration properties forever if you buy the Vitaity Amulet (NG+ Only)
- Ashley will be completely removed as a companion character. Instead, she will eventually show up (with custom cutscenes) as a nemesis-like enemy. If you shoot Ashley, she will die and you will get the Game Over screen, so you better run! she will use many different weapons during the campaign.
- new cutscenes were being effectively developed with sounds, animations, and all. Some cutscenes even changed some elements in the scenario like breaking a wall, opening a door or putting the whole area on fire.
- new enemy lock mechanic, where a door would be locked until an specific enemy was killed, or triggering a cutscene after killing a certain enemy while also opening paths, etc (tutorial already published in the Modding Tools section)
