Aaaah that must be what is going wrong then. I did not even touch the chain files, I just changed things in the mesh file itself. And since I modified the way bone chains were connected, that must be what was causing the mesh to disappear. Thanks again for the help

Hello guys, im having this trouble i followed this video tutorial after i lost my HDD with my previus setup of Noesis. But now all the models come without textures when i extract them to Blender. I am missing something ? I usually extract meshes, and they came fully textured, i only had to fix the nodes. But now they come completly pink and i cant find the textures. I have to do all the rename-mesh- stuff. And before i didnt need to do that. So i truly feel im missing something. This how it looks now with all models: i.imgur.com/7lToZMx.png This is how i extracted before in Blender after loading the mesh. i.imgur.com/9THWWDF.pngIf someone could give me a hand, this is literally my work and im in need at the moment

Anyone know why I'm receiving this error? i.imgur.com/F3tbUsH.pngIt occurs whenever I try to view or export a model with it's textures, it works fine if I cancel loading textures.

Hi. I was hoping I could get some advice from an expert here this blog. I am having issues exporting out using 3dsmax. I created a top and shorts for claire. I added them as an obj both and applied them on the model. I unwrapped the UVS and made sure that they werent overlapping. I attached both pieces of cloth in the schematic view and renamed it the same as the main body of the model. for example, LODGroup_1_MainMesh_1_SubMesh_1. then i just exported the model and when i start the game the entire body becomes invisible. what am I doing wrong? I don't mind sharing my mods for free once I am successful. I just do it for fun.

^ That sometimes happens to me when exporting the meshes with the wrong material. Keep in mind I'm using blender and not 3ds max but maybe it can be the same issue. To avoid this, what I normally do is select the verts I'll delete in the original model, keep the new mesh/vertices unselected, then I join both meshes. After doing that, I delete the selected vertices from the original model, and keep the new model intact. After that I just delete material that might have come with the new mesh, and that will keep only the previous, unmodded 'material'.

I don't understand... The 1st time it worked perfectly well, but the second time (1h later) it tells me: WARNING: Texture data was not in bytes/bytearray format! And I cannot open models with textures anymore...And I didn't change anything

I keep getting a blank mesh after exporting with Noesis. I am trying to export a new RE2 hair mesh with the same armature as the original mesh. My new mesh has three submeshes named the same as the original. Mesh bones (35) and model bones (36) do not match even though I haven't touched the amount of bones from the original. I deleted a bone just to match the bones and the mesh still comes out blank. I am exporting over the original.
I tried 3 cubes with the names of the three submeshes and the original armature. The mesh didn't turn out blank this time and was viewable in Noesis. But the mesh did not show up in game at all and used the vanilla hair mesh.

I am getting the same issue, with a DMC5 mesh. I also notice that it tells me "Duplicate mesh names detected. Renaming meshes while keeping source names intact." Could this be messing with it? I try to export the FBX back to the original filetype even without making any edits or even opening it in Blender beforehand, but it still gives me a blank mesh file that's only about 95 KB compared to the original mesh file's 4 MB.

what version of blender is that, i don't get these options while exporting to fbx format and when i try to convert from fbx to mesh from within Noesis it only creates a failed file of 53kb.
can someone please tell me what to do?
thanks for the awesome work aplhaz.
cheers for the helper.

terradn I forgot to mention I was getting "Duplicate mesh names detected. Renaming meshes while keeping source names intact" as well. I even have the same mesh names as the original. I used the data viewer tool in Noesis on my modded mesh and noticed an extra bone was labeled the same as my mesh name. I tried all the different armature export settings in Blender. Still haven't figured it out. Edit: I tried swaping my mesh like in this tutorial which fixed my issue with the bones: However, I am still getting a blank file after my Noesis export. I am also still getting the "Duplicate mesh names detected. Renaming meshes while keeping source names intact" message. belacrix I am using Blender 2.83.

I'm having a little problem with exporting files/modifying them, I export the body mesh to fbx with Noesis and get the message "WARNING: Duplicate bone names, overriding." When I export it back to RE3 mesh and place it in the game files, ingame the whole body model doesn't move. What am I missing?

belacrix ridog8Make sure your mesh names are correct in your FBX, with no duplicates. They are very important as submeshes and weights are only exported if their names match the names in the mesh file. You can check them in Noesis Tools -> Data Viewer, under Meshes and Bones

I had an issue where the textures were not being found. The function GetRootGameDir was trying to find "stm" when my root game folder is called "STM". I changed it and all the textures load now. Others might have this problem.
