Well so far from what we know of it, it will play like a small portion of The Mercenaries mode from RE5 and 6, but perhaps may, be a more developed version of Mercenaries's VS mode... still not fully explained.
I also wanted to see a new Outbreak, in addition to a new Mercenaries, featuring enhanced gameplay from the RE6 build.

Yea It seems to be a extra mode like a Raid mode or Mercenaries Mode, unfortunately it does not look to be as enjoyable as those two IMO.
Like seriously what is with Capcom and their fascination wanting the online experience for the series currently to be PVP online styled?
Why can't they figure out that a immersive cooperative online mode aka a new Outbreak game would be the golden ticket for their online endeavors?
Seems simple to me but its just my outlook on it.

When I first heard about Re:Verse I was extremely excited because I know I'm in a very small portion of people who actually enjoyed the PvP In Operation Raccoon City, I LOVED Team Attack, I played hundreds of hours of that on my Xbox 360. Sadly the game today is completely dead online.
After watching the Teaser...It really just looks extremely lame, but since it's bundled with RE8 I will certainly give it a try although I have very low expectations, especially on PC, what little population it'll have a few weeks after release will get destroyed by cowards using trainers

I take back all my cynicism, I like the tall hot lady.
Re;Verse seems worthless though, honestly don't get why Capcom are so horny for the idea of RE being a PvP series when Mercenaries co-op was the peak of the franchise's multiplayer.

I was hoping, that perhaps after re2(2019) and re3(2020) success, that they would have at least given the option to switch between 1st and the 3rd person perspective, but it's looking like that it isn't going to happen...
Question, has anyone here been invited to the closed beta that starts tommorrow? for Village multi-player RE-Verse... I signed up, but have not received anything back regarding the beta...

It just looks... so bad to me. Everything about it feels un-RE and like it's trying desperately to be other horror games. I definitely feel the Chris model is a step-up, but I really prefer the 4-5-6 look to the glossy Instagram model "realism".
Idk, I really don't like the idea of the RE I know apparently being limited to CGI shows and movies now and the worldbuild and lore shifting to something that makes no sense in the actual games.
Based on some of the spoilers, I honestly feel 8 will make or break if I still care about this series; if the spoilers about the baby and the end are true, I think I'm out and won't be touching anything new for the series -- especially since Capcom seems to continually ignore their own polls (the 20th anniversary booklet for example) and care enough to say they weren't satisfied with models (RE7 Chris) but not care enough about their integrity to not release something or to be consistent. On one hand, I can appreciate that they are doing their own thing and not fully falling to the whims of fans and how entitled they are, but on the other hand if they want to make a series that's so different from the past 20 years then they should make a side-series or another series entirely like they had done with DMC and Haunting Ground.
Then there's the voice acting and how they'll pay all this money for """Good Graphics""" but they won't pay the very people who mocap and voice act the characters and breathe life into them because it costs a little bit more? I can't think of Jill in any way outside of Patricia Ja Lee and I think RCS really made Chris. I admittedly liked Claire's new voice in Rev2 because I think the original is just loud and without range, but people love Alyson Court and I think how they didn't contact her and just handed off the character was absolutely gross. I really wish fans would stop just accepting anything Capcom releases and really hold them accountable and say, refuse to buy the games unless they actually care and put these people back in their roles because they're a huge part of the enjoyment (and in Ja Lee's case, she literally was allowed to redefine Jill in a way that is uniquely her).
Idk. I have so many gripes and RE8 feels like the building block of the end to me. I don't mind change or tonal shift, but what they're doing now just has so little regard for the series or respect for what previously came. :/

tbh it looks like Outlast 2+ Bborne to me and I really disliked how Fabiano talks about himself in third person like he wasn't the one that made these demands. Calling it in any way an homage to 4 or related to it is silly beyond possibly location/some visual cues (I noticed tapestries that looked similar to in the castle).
The merchant thing is the most egregiously embarrassing thing, though. It's a yikes from me.

I literally can't imagine Chris leaving the BSAA unless it was with Jill and they were both doing their own thing together. I cannot imagine him caring about Ethan or Mia and making it his "pet project". RE5 and RE6 really drove the point home of him not being this dark edgy character and him having hope -- and that's why he does what he does. To take that away for the sake of being edgy or "dark and serious" is such weak storytelling.
It's very clear they had no idea what to do in a post-Wesker RE world and it's unfortunate because 6's Family could've been so interesting! A conspiracy group that's underground? How much more RE can you get? They also could've ran with remnants of Wesker's The Organization since the never fully defined it.
I think they need to slow their roll with real-time aging/games, as well. I think they'd all be p well taken care of and not age poorly considering their jobs and how they take care of themselves, but then again people still call RE5 Chris "roid rage" lmao.
And just give me a game where Jill and Chris are co-op and there's a high-five function. And give me a damn sunset flip for Jill already. It's especially tragic because they did well with DMC 5 so they're clearly capable of the charm these games used to have and models that don't look ripped from Instagram. I really think they need to offer big bucks to Keiji Inafune to come back to them + maybe do something with the folk who worked on Project X Zone/PXZ2. They did an amazing job on characterization and dialogue both in comedy and more poignant moments (Ada saying she doesn't really know Leon kills me every time). Vendetta was a little sloppy but it's clear they need to try to get people from the old teams to come back or at least advise and make major decisions -- especially in terms of character designs and dialogue.

I think it might be that the female character was only for the demo? I don't necessarily mind this, but I have zero investment in new RE characters at this point. 6 had me invested in some but I'm So Tired of new characters, especially ones that are meant to be self-inserted with like Ethan.
I know Capcom's always been bad with RE and introducing new characters but work with what you have. There's a wealth of Really Good Characters available for every kind of plot they'd want whether it's being reckless, only working solo, stealth, guns blazing, tentative or certain of what they're doing, afraid and unskilled because they're more a scientist than fighter, etc. :/
