Yeah I'm not a big fan of FPS, makes me feel uncomfortable and that's why I won't play RE7 and neither this one probably.
I do like the aesthetic and atmosphere but this isn't even Resident Evil anymore, seems like they ran out of ideas for the current timeline, and oh surprise, it's Chris again for the 153680th time. Character appearances used to be balanced but they've been using him nonstop since 5, and you know who hasn't had any sequels since that one which came out in 2009? Jill. Where is my girl, I'm sick of seeing Chris come back in all the sequel stories.
R.I.P Resident Evil. March 22, 1996 - February 24, 2015.
Ok, that made my day. And yes, it's old, but the thread has recent activity so... deal with it. ^_^
Honestly.. I'm sort of dreading when I get to the "new games". I've been putting it off as long as I possibly can, but each time they push a title ahead, it feels that much more like I really *should* at least give them a go.
That said... definitely in the camp of FPS != RE.
Don't get me wrong.. I don't *hate* FPS games as a rule, but there's a place for it, and a place where it should be avoided. If I WANT to play an FPS, it's not like there's already hundreds (if not thousands) of decent to excellent titles out there to do just that. Don't really see why they need to keep getting their damn peanut butter in my chocolate. (Yes, showing my age with that reference lol)
Anyways.. hope those who enjoy this sort of thing do, and eh.. guess I hope those of us against this sort of direction in the series either get some more of what we love soon, or at least they do enough OTHER things right to where we all find a "happy middle" or something. Hey.. stranger things have been known to happen.
Most Resident Evil fans, prefer Third Person, would have been smart to have a button (L3 button for example) that in real time could switch between First and Third Person, so you please everyone interested in the series.
Update: A reminder, that Capcom's update on Resident Evil is today (Jan 21st) at 5pm Eastern and 2pm Pacific.
I was bored by the trailer personally. Not excited. There seems to be more variety this time when compared to re7 and ı liked that they fixed chris' design but still boring.
Plus ı think the game will be disconnected to canon re lore like re7 and reimaginings were.
Also did anyone notice that they are using re7 chris in re verse? Lol. Not to mention ıdk why are they bothering with something like that; it's like they didnt learn anything from reorc, umbrella corps and resistance.
For Village's multiplayer game Re-Verse, it looks like they are only using existing assets from RE7, RE2(2019)and RE3(2020)to create the game... the cover art start menu, seems to be inspired by Mercenaries, and shows us who will be the playable characters to versus against...
These are Chris Redfield from RE7 (reimagined model), Claire, Leon, Ada, Hunk from RE2 and Jill from RE3; additionally they showed a miniaturized Hunter Gama and that when a player loses they can become the Villians featured in these 3 games Baker, Mr. X and Nemesis. They only showed one map, that was inside the main area of police department, with a cartoon filter applied to the screen (Borderlands Style, hopefully optional).
Personally was not impressed with REverse at all, i get that its a side game but honestly after Resistance I'm tired of copy and pasted mediocre online RE games, seriously they have a concept ripe for the picking with a hypothetical Outbreak file 3 and choose to never cash in on it, heck even just a remastered upscale of the old games with current day online support would be great in my opinion.

glisp: fluffyquack might as well just stop adding trainers to his mod manager. He refuses to update them to work with the latest version of the games. There's no point in having them.
