hey guys, ive been trying to find the re engine as ive heard rumors that it may be released to public. so in my serach i ran across this link and i saw a bunch of files that can be downloaded. they do however look familiar but i dont know what they do. but if anyone is code savy and know of gethub then you may want to look at this. im not going to get my hopes up but hopefully one day we will be able to have less limitation when it comes to the modding community. well i digressed enough, here is the link. github.com/dgl/re-engine-RE2also found this link too osdn.net/projects/freshmeat_re-engine-re2/releases/

(edit) i think it uses a form of regex engine in its coding, maybe for coding the games themselves. someone could make a tool to i guess make toolset like that re4 has. i guess we will wait and see

May those repositories be related to the Google's RE2 libraries?, they looks like to me engines for data management programs, not for programs with visual rendering like videogames. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RE2_(software)I think it's unlikely that Capcom would distribute it RE engine freely, but even though, For what? it does not make something new, perhaps would be time saving go directly to Directx12 or OpenGL libraries? (I see a lot of hype with Vulkan but I don't know how extended it is nowaday).

RE Engine was made by Capcom and will NEVER be released to the public.
Honestly, releasing it to the public would be a VERY bad idea considering Capcom is still actively using it for new games.
