Hello everyone,
so ive tried to install the Agent mod posted by TFN'SModdler. I have succesfully replaced Leons model, but the the new model doesnt seem to have a texture, it appears completly black with the right hand covered in letters.
I have inserted the imagepackHd file provided by the mod into the games files under the name 01000008.pack and 01000000.pack( i have also tried naming the files .pak.zs2 ) and renamed the original files.
I dont really know how to fix this issue.
(If this is the wrong place to ask, please point me towards the correct forum)

Hey a few things could be wrong here: First, don't rename files like you did. This will only get bad results and crashes from doing that. Just remember that we never rename files in this game unless we are trying to get the game to ignore the file. The issue you are having is that the wrong pack file is loading (or it is absent), so the default texture *black alphabet of death* is loading instead. I suspect you didn't remove/rename/move the original LFS versions of the texture files and that the mod has textures that are numerated higher than what is contained in the original pack file. This is the most common mistake people make when installing a mod. Either people don't read the instructions about the default LFS versions, or MOD creators don't include this vital piece of information in their mod install instructions. The good news is, there is a way to do it correctly =) To fix this, take some time to read this: residentevilmodding.boards.net/thread/8354/problems-installing-re4uhd-read-firstLet me know if this resolves your issue. Happy Modding

Hello again thanks for your answer,
I have to correct my original post, when i said i renamed original files, i meant i added the bak ending to the filenames so the game ignores them while loading.
What i did actually rename was the files provided by the mod since it originally replaces the pl10 skin instead of the default, and i dont have that skin.
Ive rechecked the files and i have not found any lfs files which i havent already renamed.
The removed/renamed files are currently 01000008.pack.yz2.lfs.bak, 01000000.pack.yz2.lfs.bak and 01000009.pack.yz2.lfs.bak which should be the leon texture files, all replaced by the mod files under the respective name. (010000xx.pack )
I have already tried downloading the mod again to see if i may have mixed up the Pack files while renaming them.
The default texture still persists. What i dont really understand is that the model swap worked perfectly but i cant seem to figure out the textures even though replacing them should be the same method.
Have i missed something ? Could the mod file be broken ?
Thank you for your time

"What i did actually rename was the files provided by the mod since it originally replaces the pl10 skin instead of the default, and i dont have that skin."
It sounds like you started renaming things you shouldn't have. Simply renaming files doesn't work. There are BIN & TPL files that are linked together that point to textures, and when we simply rename files, it doesnt mean the data inside those files still doesn't point to where it needs to. What's most likely happening is that the BIN files of the mod file are calling on textures that are not present, hence the black alphabet of death. I suggest you re-download the mod, remove any things you renamed, and re-install with careful detail to the installation instructions that were provided my the mod creator.

Unless there are other complaints from other users in the thread where you downloaded the file I doubt the issue is with the mod itself. You could always download another mod and replicate the steps you took trying to install this one to see if your process is valid.

did you check for all instances of the pack file for pl10? Sometimes there are other versions like: .pack .pack.yz2 .pack.lfs .pack.yz2.lfs
Its obvious that the wrong pack is loading or not at all. Make sure the right one is loading by removing all instances of the pack file with the similar name (just different extension).
Happy MOdding !

Well i took your advice and simply replaced the pl10 outfit with the mod files instead of trying to replace the pl08, and then used razors trainer to load the rpd outfit and it works. The hands are kinda weird but thats a problem a lot of people have already told the creator about.
I know its simple but i didnt know about the trainer and i didnt want to muck with my save files since this is technically my first playthrough and i didnt want to have items i shouldn't have unlocked yet. At least i now have learned that it is indeed not just as simple as renaming them.
Anyway thanks a lot for your help Mr.Curious aswell as your patience.
