I'm about to start my first attempt at modding for RE3. Pretty happy that for the most part, the mod creation pipeline from last year's Resident Evil 2 remake carried over to RE3. That'll make the process easier for me. I hope to finish this mod in time for the release of the game. to do: - tweak the mesh slightly to better align limbs with Nemesis - skin to skeleton - look for Nemesis' tentacle meshes
- look for metallic tendrils (like Omega Red's) to replace Nemesis Bio Tentacles.
I personally like this animated Rendition of Ultron. I personally wasnt a fan of the Avenger's movie, human sounding, emo teen portrayal by James Spader. This is what a killer robot should sound and feel like. Cold, unemotional, logical.

Discovered that a missing crucial step was written in the script itself. Before doing any model editing you need to open your mesh / model (which should be in FBX format) and export it out as an FBX again, before you can even bring it into max and do any editing.

This is where I'm stuck at the moment. Took some time to figure out that I was missing a crucial step in the model import pipeline (which is to export out an fbx from noesis frist) but right now it seems that there's a disconnect between material and texture files. Is there any kind soul out there with some advice? I'll start skinning the character after after I settle this texture image issue.
Thanks

WIP:
After a lot of trial and error, finally got the texture and mesh import kinks out of the way.
Still having Ultron's head dissapear from time to time in the start page... I suspect this has to do with multiple meshes z - fighting
Time to edit them shaders, and mesh skinning.
Do any of you gents know how to modify glow shaders?? If I knew how to make his eyes and mouth glow, it'd really give the contrast that I hope to achieve.
PS: The first time I played the demo and went up against nemesis: (Pats self on the back for having balls of steel)

Finally got the body for the Title Screen looking and working the way I want it, but whenever I use the same .mesh file for its in game counterpart, the mesh sort of refuses to recognize the 'head' bone in the skeleton. Need to troubleshoot this before i can put out a version 1 of this mod.

thanks mate. ill do that Hi mate how are you?
You have not been here since last year so you did not noticed that when re 2 came out the forum got fill with angry and obnoxious people.
demanding stuff attacking other members you name it.
Many of the good old modders left and some other good people too.
If someone tried to help instead of a thanks they got a shoot in the ass.
So do the math mate.
Anyways. You are doing it backwards.
this time the game files are more strict also the textures
while you can do the same as re 2 you may have to alter a bit the method
specially with the meshes the mod needs 3 separated or one in the main one
Also textures albm, atos, and nrm are a bit different from re 2 that is why they look like that.
You already have the idea. Just be careful with the atos and normal maps mate.
have fun

Hey man! Good to hear from you!
OMG sounds like I missed a lot... Yeah, shortly after I finished the RE2 mods, I changed jobs and moved between countries. I did some modding for Sekiro just a month ago lol.
Thanks for the advice Making this mod was sort of a struggle, but one I enjoyed. (Almost finished actually, going to do some texture clean up tomorrow, then I can put up a version 1.0 for it)
When I'm done, I'll write down a post - mortem of the things I learned in making this new mod for RE3, just so there are some notes that I hope could be of use to other modders.
Anyway, thanks for dropping by my thread I appreciate it!
