Since the Glock 19 shoots like a handcannon, especially at medium distances, the point of aim jumping up about 1 foot, maybe a bit more, especially noticeable on "autofire", and since we aren't shooting an AK, and this is not CS:GO;
We fix the recoil of the Handgun!!!
Whats needed, as always: Hex Editor with Go-To and Search Function, Hex Calculator, Notepad for notes
Crucial: Unpacked game files [use the UNPACKER that is available for that, can be found in this Forum, easily].
1. Go to the Folder: "[...unpacked folder name...]\natives\STM\escape\userdata\character\weapon\"
2. Copy the File named "wp2000.user.2" so it will be named "wp2000.user.2 - copy" or something similar. Make a copy of it, simple!
3. Rename the File "wp0000.user.2" into "backup wp0000.user.2"
4. Rename "wp2000.user.2 - copy" to "wp0000.user.2"
You see what we did so far? A basic "recoil table swap". Simply swapped out ONE table, for another.
5. Now open up "wp0000.user.2" in HexEditor
6. In Hexeditor, search for HEX: 043FC773
It will find one result only.
7. Now the tricky part: Find HEX:
0000000000000000000000005839B43B5839B43B4850FC3B00000000F685C2BE8FAB183F8FAB183FEC85C2BE0000803F0000803F0000803F
and replace with:
000000000000000000000000000000000AD7A33B0AD7A3BB00000000F9FFFF3E020000BF020000BF0200003F0000803F0000803F0000803F
It is perfectly fine to leave the file as it is and just rename it, but the result is a tiny bit "wonky looking" G19 in Jills hands - and we want this clean.
8. Save. The Length of the Hexcodes are matching, a length of 56 Bytes. What this is, or rather was, is the "gun mesh position" metadata, that is relative to the joints of the model, apparently, defining how the gun is placed in Jills hands. And without the modification, it will look pointing slightly to the right side.
9. Now use the Modloader, and provided Tutorials, or self-explanatory methods, to install the mod. I did not need any instructions, I found out how to use it by myself, and if I, of all people, can, then you can too!!!
You can even try other recoil tables, but so far only the Knife, the Shotgun, AR, Grenade and Pistol exist. I have NOT!!!! tested any other, because the Assault Rifle Table creates just the result that was desired.
WARNING!!!!
The downside of this is, that it also screws with the model in a little way: the model has potentially ALL its available addons added to it. So do not worry if you have, in the DEMO, a non-functional [unless you find it and actually add it] RED DOT, and in the final game, suppressor and potential other tools, added to it. Its PURELY COSMETIC, and the ACTUAL ADDONS can still be added, but they will be visually added, before you even find them.
You can roleplay this as Jills weapon having a "broken" RED DOT, and other attachments, that she needs to refind. It's a purely cosmetic change, and the gain, greatly outweighs the downside of this cosmetics.
I will look into the file some more, to identify WHAT makes the recoil, and WHAT determines the addons to be added.
I have no high hopes for it, due to no availability to a source code, so I do not know AT ALL what any of the numbers do, all my mods, and findings, are either logical conclusions [based on floats and ints I remember from RE5], or trial-and error, the old school way.
If someone is more skilled, or has a clue how to make this a bit easier, they can go ahead and help me, but at the moment, this is the best we can do.
