Anyone else noticed how they downgraded the things mentioned in thread title?
1. I couldn't blow the zombies into two halves by shotgun at all.
2. Shooting off zombie limbs just makes them disappear now. In REmake 2 they used to smoothly tear up and fall down on ground which was more realistic.
3. Shooting zombies doesn't show visual ragdoll feedback, especially on limbs anymore. In REmake 2 shooting them on limbs made the limbs react to bullet impact.
4. Zombies didn't trip over other zombies lying down. They just clip through them now.
5. Dead zombies now get completely frozen. No ragdoll on them anymore. They can't even be dismembered anymore. You can't even blow their heads off.
6. Less blood splatter on environments from shooting zombies now.
So not only there was a gore downgrade, the ragdoll physics feels almost non existent now. And the fact that zombies don't trip over other zombies and dead zombies are frozen means there is a downgrade in gameplay mechanics as well. Even the Japanese censored version of REmake 2 had the physics which is not present here anymore.
I don't know why they removed one of the best part of REmake 2. Even though REmake 2 had cut many contents, I played over 113 hours only because of how much fun I had blowing off zombies and dismembering their bodies to hell.
I knew something felt off right after my first encounter with a zombie in the demo. Shooting them didn't feel satisfying at all.
This really put me off. I will eventually buy the game when it gets a price reduction on sale, but I don't think I will pay full price for this game. But lets see if things change in the fuinal build .

I'm pretty sure they removed it to save up memory and things of the sort. There are more areas, they are a lot bigger, the game has twice more zombies than RE2, etc.

I'm pretty sure they did it because this time there is no censored version for Japan. Biohazard 2 and Biohazard 7 both have serious censorship in Japan.
What I am seeing with the RE3 demo is very similar to the Jap version of Biohazard 2's zombies.

That's a shame then. So the downgrade will be in the final build even on non Japan countries. I thought the Jap version of RE2 still had physics? Aka dead zombies still had physics to bullets. In RE3 they just freeze like a statue, doesn't even move.

I am sure that this is done to save resources and optimize. I wouldn't say that the locations have become larger and this is the reason, but the enemies are definitely. I will not go into details to get rid of the spoilers, but in the game you sometimes have to deal with crowds of zombies that will attack you at the same time in the amount of 10 enemies at a time.

Yeah, it's disappointing.

Let me get this straight. In a country where you can buy used woman's panties out of a vending machine, they have serious constraints on showing animated gore in a zombie game that is properly rated as Mature content? I really don't think it has to do with saving memory or anything like that. There really aren't that many zombies and the areas really don't seem any bigger than RE2R. The only real difference is that you're outside. Personally I think it's just another item on a long list of things they screwed up in this remake. RE3R is in no way on the same level as RE2R and that's a damn shame because RE3:N was always my favorite. I was really looking forward to this game and I feel extremely let down at the lack of attention to detail, cut features and massive cut content

Agree with everything the OP said, I feel the exact same way. The clothing physics for zombies are no longer there except for maybe one model. Check out the 'Misty' zombie model in RE3R and compare it to the RE2R one. The textures are incredibly low even with texture/mesh settings on high. Also was very disappointed that there were no new zombie models for this game. They could have at least altered the colours and textures of the zombie outfits to give more variety. The original had complete new zombie models compared to RE2 (1998).
They were really lazy with the RE3R.
