Digging in on audio effects cause of curiosity, kinda want more elements from 1998 RE2.
So far tried change knife ant pistol sounds, sounds is not i expected.. gun sounds strange, sometimes almost same (like not changed, a bit more punch), only in small rooms not bad (no echo applied?),
Is kinda complicated to find link between weapons/sfxFiles, usable SfxFiles on other map places...even in not that ton of files. Guns shot sound have variations, different sound files for different areas (actual gun shot sfx (multiple), echo-in (multiple) and echo-out sfx's (multiple) ). Damn, it's gonna take some time find which sound for what/where (other pistols sometimes also using same files).
Mainly 3 audio files for 1 gunshot in 1 place (depends on echo points placed on map) - have echo-in (before shooting), shot sfx (varies files for different area size/maybe applied pitch via engine), echo-out (after shot). Is slow work to find which weapon uses which sounds (and..other weapons using too) .
Some audios or echos sometimes also used for other pistols - taking that sounds and probably changes pitch to sound different.. so maybe why sfx sounded strange.
Also same stuff wit reloading/dropping clip.. And damn i thought RE Engine uses normal, 1 sfx audio - and changes echo/pitch just by engine.. not x3 files x? variations on map points .
Gonna try some more, is even could sound similar to RE2 1998?!
PROGRESS (2020-02-27):
Knife - in beta (swing, hit material, hit enemy).
Pistols (Leon)
Matilda - in beta (shot, shot upgraded, reload, clip drop)
M19 pistol - unchanged (not existed in 1998 game).
Pistols (Claire):
Colt Revolver - in beta (shot, reload).
SLS pistol - in beta (uses sfx's from Revolver, tweaking-so far i like sounds).
JMB pistol - unchanged.
Other Pistols:
Any unlocked/DLC Pistol (Samurai Edge's) uses same sfx's from Matilda (but changes eg. sound pitch/speed by game engine).
So far pistols was very messy and damn headache. Finally 99% stuff figured out.
Shotgun:
in beta (shot, reload). Sadly upgraded Shotgun uses same shot sfx sounds (just changing how it sounds by game engine).
Magnum:
in beta (shot, reload, clip drop). Upgraded Magnum also uses same shot sfx sounds (just changing how it sounds by game engine).
Mac10:
in beta (shot, shot silenced, reload, clip drop). 1998 shot sound for not silenced. For silenced is nice combination (2019 silenced with 1998 shot) edited sound.
Grenade Launcher:
in beta (shot, hit acid, hit flame, reload).
Sparkshot:
in beta (shot, reload, clip drop)
Flamethrower:
in beta (shot).
Gatling Gun:
in beta (spin start, shot, spin stop).
Rocket Launcher:
in beta (shot, hit).
EXTRA:
1998 "Self Destruct Sequence" voice. "Hey, Ada Wait !" at Parking garage (with subtitles).
