Hey all
So earlier today I tried to import a model into 3ds max 2016 with maliwei777's script, it hung up and I had to kill 3ds in task manager.
Now it seems the script no longer works even on models that I had previously imported without issue.
I tried re installing the script with a backup... failed Tried re installing 3ds max 2016... failed uninstalled ALL autodesk applications, logged into my account to re download 3ds. 3ds 2016 no longer available, so upgraded to 3ds max 2017. script still will not work. just hangs indefinitely.
so at this point I have no clue how to get it working again....
If any of you can help I would really appreciate it.
Was just starting to learn 3ds and was making progress. now dead in the water.

it WAS working fine on 3ds max 2016 up until yesterday, and I've read posts of peoplr on these forums using 2017 without issues. I think the script is possibly storing info / data somewhere and when it hung that data got messed up, preventing it from working. even with all the reinstalls, it still remembered the last path i used. so probably just needs resetting.

I don't think it is anything to do with 3ds Max as that has been completely uninstalled and reinstalled, with a different version oddly I tried Crazy Potato's v0.3 modified script and it worked perfectly in under 10s, but only imported the first LOD. perhaps he might have some idea's. debugging the script is far beyond my capabilities.

Thought I'd try a system restore, see if that would fix whatever got broken. It reverted my system back to a non working un licenced 3ds max 2016. so after another complete uninstall of 2016 and reinstall of 2017 the script still will not work. so I give up only option left is to completely reinstall my laptop

After a complete re-install of my laptop.... seems there are a few models / meshes the script still can't handle, but for now I have what I need

With much appreciated help from mangakagirl I now have a working script. many Thanks.
Could anyone recommend a good software for posing / animating Re2 models that can import the models and manipulate them without having to re rig or re map or any other stuff?
Thanks
