Introduction:
Original Thread: Reddit
Recently two guys: Talos91 & PoundlandBacon made splitscreen possible for Resident Evil 5 (works with Gold edition, even allows each player to have their own saves!), there is this program (NucleusCoop) that takes advantage of LAN which was made by someone else and still in slow development, which this game has (LAN), using that has made splitscreen possible for this game.

Remember, this is in Work in progress! Any issues, let me know!
Incompatibilities:
Notes:
Incompatibilities:
-ENBs/Reshades (Causes instances not to open and render at all.)
-Raz0r's Trainer (Doesn't detect game instances, needs valid steam check.)
Notes:
-Does not use your STEAM save data, it creates a new save data (for each player) which will not alter or change your Steam save, but backup just in case. The save data gets deleted once the game closes but there's a workaround below.
-Mods do work! Recommend using Fluffy's Mod Manager!
-Screen can be VERY stretched depending on the splitscreen position (which you can manually configure).
-Adding custom resolution to make 16:9 ratio for splitscreen causes game to have Error 09: Unsupported Function (suppose to help with the game being stretched). - FIXED
-Only requires 1 PC, with decent CPU & GPU to handle multiple game instances, wouldn't recommend changing graphics setting while in splitscreen, change it via config.ini or if you're playing solo.
-Should work with multiple monitors.
-Recommend using controllers as KB controls all instances.
-Only works with 16:9 screens I believe.
-Rumble doesn't seem to work yet...?
-To change any player name in nucleuscoop folder go to games/Residentevil5 and edit the file account name with notepad inside the P1, P2, P3, P4 folders. To change Language edit the language text file there too. Local 4 player versus mode should work too, multiple monitors on one pc should work too.
If you're using Mulac/RICK's Online patch, use ResidentEvil5OF.js instead of ResidentEvil5.js

Preparations:
Couple of things you should do beforehand! (To wash the chance of getting issues)
1. Make sure the game is completely VANILLA, disable any mods!
2. Remove any ENB and/or Reshade.
3. OPTIONAL - Reinstall Resident Evil 5 through Steam.
Once done, install all the mods again, exclude ENB/RESHADE!

Instructions (Inc. Pictures/GIFs):
1. Download modded NucleusCoop Alpha 8 (this fixes few things up and adds few additions to it): NucleusCoop Modded [Github]
2. Open and extract the contents onto the desktop, recommend putting it into a folder.
3. Open NucleusCoop & click on Download Game Scripts.
Optional: Saves 100% completed
4. Either type up Resident Evil 5 in the search box or click on View All
5. Highlight the first RE5 script and click download if you aren't using RICK's/Mulac's Online Patch (highly recommend to use the patch), or highlight the second RE5 script and click download if you're using the patch.
6. Once downloaded, you'll see this popup. Click on Yes/OK and find the game executable (generally at C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/Common/Resident Evil 5)
7. Once that's done, you should have RE5 added to the left pane, click it and connect your controllers (they should be labelled with numbers) to your PC.
8. Below the controller icons, you can see like a small little box in a big rectangle, click on it to change the positioning/orientation and/or the amount of players you want to put. Then click and drop the controller number depending on which controller will controller which instance. (Might be a bit buggy with dragging and dropping.)
-Click the right arrow at the top right of the app then click play, wait then for the app to force focus all instances and position them perfectly. (Again it will be very stretched but there isn't a way to fix this as the game doesn't work with the known workaround).
2. Open and extract the contents onto the desktop, recommend putting it into a folder.
3. Open NucleusCoop & click on Download Game Scripts.
Optional: Saves 100% completed
if you want to use the 100% saves then just copy the 21690 folder to its respective instance in C:\Users<your username>\NucleusCoop, you can access your saves per instance via the NucleusCoop UI after the script first launch, click game options/open user profile save path in the UI.

Workarounds:
PS3/PS4 Controllers:
Thanks to DarkSamus for confirming it, you can use x360ce or DS4Windows to make the controller appear as xInput controllers!
DS4Windows
x360ce
I'd also recommend installing his Playstation Button Prompt mod to better experience the game!
