managed to replace the ammo in the weapon locker (the default shotgun replacement file didn't replace the 9mm ammo for me) not sure if you already figured that out or not {expand} sidenote, why is every part after "fsmv2 . . . . .", like 20 lines, different from the file I have, did you change every line or am I just using an old file to compare? (extracted pre updates/dlc)

seems the same method works for the other lockers in that weapons room, so maybe the method of replacing what's in the lockers also applies to the other lockers? {expand} no idea if ammo count is correct or not, as I don't have the keypad thing (new save) replaced

I'm not having a problem replacing items in this room, i replaced the handgun ammo and didn't try others. My problem is with regular lockers.

I think I made some progress, first I was able to "somewhat" swap the shotgun shells in the CAP locker with claire's grenades but after trying to pick them up, if you didn't put them in inventory and cancelled, they just vanished but now it seems to work (so far) edit; only two bytes need to be changed (or maybe just one?) the third occurence of ' 10' i replaced with ' 17' is most likely a normal ammo pickup (it's after ' item') only the first two occurences after 'FailureCheck .. FailureCount' need to be changed, tested by replacing them with 0F and I got 9mm ammo

Great news. btw here're the ammo values i know about 9mm 0F 45acp 1A SMG Ammo 11 Magnum Ammo 12 Claire's Mag 1B Shotgun 10 Flame 17 Flamethrower 26 Spark Shot 27 nice, testing some of them now can confirm it's actually only one byte that has to be changed, as the edits I made applied to the CAP locker, and the one right next to it haven't had luck with the locker in the breakroom though, maybe those 2nd run lockers are different (or not in the item folder files)

Guys, how many shotgun shells do you think Leon picks up on any average run. Like if you pick all shotgun shells and never fire one how many will you have by the end of the game.

I'm not entirely sure, as I've never not used the shotgun, but I do pick up almost every spawn (or all) and my guess is 30 - 50 probably 40 ish (thats on hc) but there's also the gunpowders, which you don't have on a claire run (or you can replace those too, mix and match diff enhanced powders) from gunpowders I get 30 - 40 shells
have you figured out which byte(s) affect the ammo count? also I still haven't figured out that one ammo spawn in the breakroom locker, but I do know it's in the item\common.scn.19 file

This makes white gunpowder = 27. (I think)
I think I've been too focused on 45acp I never tried to swap other types of ammo inside lockers, thanks.
