Can I please make a mod request?
I don`t want to offend you in any way but I personally think nothing breaks the immersion more in videogames than having all fallen enemies vanish into thin air.
For example Resident Evil 2 and Dead Space 1 are especially creepy because the dead zombies and the gibs stayed exactly as they fell on the ground during the combat, permanently afterwards in the game.
And this truly enhances the horror atmosphere ..... imagine the eerie dark hallways and the protagonist is completely alone with what remaines of the foes that once attacked him and tried to eat him, the darkness the creepy silent music..... the protagonist can never be sure if the zombie remains somehow awake to new undead life....
This is survival horror immersion at it`s finest.
The original freshly released Resident Evil 2 version1.0 kept ALL fallen enemies and their blood stains and gibs on the floor (even when loading savegames all remains of the zombie carnage, for example every lost foot lying a few meters away from the dead zombie and every blood stain was still there).
The newest patched version has all blood stains and shot-off limbs having disappeared from the rooms when coming back after a few minutes, or when loading the game.
So my mod request would be the exact opposite this mod is:
Please make ALL details stay permanent in an immersive way. For example all shot off hands, all blood stains on the ground, all zombies and monsters ever fought in the game should remain permanent.
You would get lots and lots of cookies if you could do that, and the immersion gain and the feeling of dread and fear when returning to already visited rooms in this superb horror game is so much more intense.
By the way: Is there any chance to randomly revive a few of the long fallen zombies randomly after half an hour or so? To make the game especially creepy because in this case the protagonist can never be sure if the dead really stay dead (similar to the Resident Evil 1 Remake V-Acts but as normal zombies).
The main goal of my mod request and the finished mod should look and work like:
All the neutralized zombies (including their blood patterns and shot-off limbs and bullet holes) should stay exactly as they fall, with all remains and blood pattern staying permanent in the room exactly as they were defeated.
And maybe 1-5% of the defeated zombies should get randomly reanimated after a really long time maybe after an hour or so, but with keeping all their wounds - for example crawling when they have lost a leg - and especially hard to kill again. (always using stage 5 of 5 of the adaptive difficulty setting.)
This would create a superb atmosphere of endless dread and danger because one can never be sure what comes back again to undead life, and would create not only cool surprise-zombies but also small mini-bosses like the Resident Evil 1 Remake V-Acts
