I was able to figure out REmake's files in order to recolor skins but I'm super lost with RE4UHD. For example, do I unpack pl00.udas and use a tool to essentially photoshop a character's clothes a different color or is there more to it?

If you're looking for retexturing, you're lookin in the wrong file, textures are .yz2 not udas, udas contains some animations and the character 3d model. you can find the textures inside the ImagePack or ImagePackHD folders
for example pl00.udas textures are 01000000.pack.yz2

Thanks for the reply and clarification! Just so happens that's where I'm at now as I read your response. Literally all I wanna do is recolor Leon's cargo pants to a dark blue. Will changes to the yz2 textures reflect in cut scenes?

I think I'm getting this! Had to use the quickbms with a script found via Steam modding instructions. Now I can finally access these textures. Will report whether I successfully made the color change or not.

you have to use the QuickBMS script to remove the .lfs extension and then the YZ2 tool that you can find here residentevilmodding.boards.net/thread/2486/re4-model-importer-exporter-toolset, after that just pack the textures again and you'll have a .yz2 or .pack file doesn't matter, but you'll have to remove or rename the one that ends with .lfs from the textures folder, otherwise the game will load it instead the one you've modfied. if you have any issues let me know and i'll try to help. Good luck! as for Leon default costumes, it works on cutscenes but im not sure about the alternative costumes

I figured it out! Used GIMP to edit the color of his pants and it worked in game for cut scenes as well. Problem is it's too blue, so back to editing. Will post pics and likely upload on the mod board. Thanks for your help, JWesker!
