I was thinking about what I should do besides an RE3 Jill port, and since I couldn't find a Carlos port.... I've also increased the mesh quality. Rendered in 3ds Max. Model is from Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City.

So I've hit a problem. I've managed to export the mesh and textures, but the UVW's are messed up upon export from 3ds Max (looked in-game and imported the model).
I've tried the following:
- set all smoothgroups to 1 - export as fbx and re-import into 3ds Max - converted to editable patch, then back to editable mesh to triangulate the mesh - cloned the mesh - averaged the normals - reset xform - reset UVW
Anyone have an idea what's going on? I'm pretty certain I've followed all the steps in the video tutorial.

Lesson learned - meshes MUST have splits along UV seams...

So you were able to get your model in game with the uvs mapped out correctly? Because i am currently having the same issue put its only specific pieces of my model.

Yeah. Check that those meshes have splits where the UV seams are.

Yeah. Check that those meshes have splits where the UV seams are. What exactly do you mean by splits? Sorry im not familiar with all of the parts of 3dsmax.

Meshes need to be broken where the UV seams are. When you import an RE2 model, you'll notice parts of the meshes have breaks in them that match the UV seams. Do not weld these.

Having to reskin & shift verts around on Leon's head to make it look more like Carlos. Sucks the exporter can't do head meshes properly.
Will post a pic later on.

Just sorting out the head stuff now. Wow! Damn, Leon actually looks really good in this outfit lol I agree. Would go perfect with the Jill Valentine cosplay for Claire mod. Looking Good so far. Seeing you guys make mods, it makes me want to try but I doubt I could finish in the 30 days that 3DS max (I think) would give me. Plus I'd like to have some grace time in case there were any bugs.
