New WIP build: www.fluffyquack.com/WIP/modmanager.rarThis now displays a very basic warning if you're currently highlighting a mod which conflicts with a currently installed mod (and it shows the name of the mod it conflicts with). I think I'll just leave it at this for now as I'm not sure how else to present this.

New version released: www.fluffyquack.com/tools/modmanager.rarv2.000: - Added caching system for mods which makes mod manager much faster to start up when there are a large amount of mods (first time running the mod manager without cache may make it stall for a few seconds as it creates the cache). - Added scroll bar for menus. - Added filter system for mod category tags. Each mod can have up to 10 category tags. This is defined via multiple "category=[text]" in modinfo.ini for each mod), but can be temporarily changed in the mod manager itself via the "manage mod lists" menu. - Mod manager now checks if a new version exists online whenever it boots up (this functionality can be disabled in options). If it finds a new version, then a menu option gets added for making the default Windows browser start downloading the latest version. - Mod manager now does a basic check if the currently selected game has been patched. If that happens, the mod manager will display a message about recommended steps if a conflict could have happened with the patch and mod installs. - Added a toggle to options to change how the mod list is presented. Alternate style gives the mod list static size to all buttons (but they'll resize to show all text when highlighted). - Mod manager will now show a warning if you're highlighting a mod with conflicting files as a currently installed mod. - Increased the maximum amount of mods possible to be listed in one menu (from 1k to 20k). - Changed how mod descriptions are displayed when highlighting mods. - Moved network functions to the options menu. - RE2: Changed sample mod from "Alternate Rebecca Photo" to "PS4 Controller Button Prompts" - SF5: Mod manager now scans "AppData\Local\StreetFighterV\Saved\download\Replacement" for PAK files. This is the biggest update I've made for the mod manager thus far. The new caching system (which means the mod manager is MUCH faster at booting up), a category system (check this post for suggestions how to tag your mods: residentevilmodding.boards.net/thread/10142/modding-pak-files-version-800?page=19&scrollTo=112191 ), and a scroll bar (wow, high-tech!) are the biggest improvements with this version, but there are other notable changes too.

You don't need to run the game via the mod manager. That's just there as a convenience.

I mean regardless you pirated a second copy, you basically stole a 2nd copy for free, and on the other note I'm 99.9% sure the mod manager won't work on a none steam version whether it has a steam cracked version or not. Plus when you say you have a steam version I doubt you do cause the mod manager safely makes back ups of the original file and when you turn a mod off it reverts the original files back to normal so the simple fact that you're saying you don't want to ruin your steam version even though its clearly safe to let the mod manager keep it safe is in my opinion a load of bs. But that's just my opinion I don't like people pirating games regardless of the circumstances.

I'm making this post as a general troubleshooting guide for common problems. Q: I'm installing a mod for RE2/RE3/RE7, but it doesn't show up in the game.A: Most mods for those games are created for an older version of the game that doesn't have ray tracing support. Try downgrading the game version: steamcommunity.com/games/883710/announcements/detail/3344500154867780166Q: Fluffy Manager only shows a black screen when running and then crashes.A: Fluffy Manager might be lacking file access permission in its current location. Try running the mod manager from a different drive or directory (avoid anything related to Windows, like "program files" or the desktop). Q: I'm getting error messages related to copying files or opening files for writing.A: Try running the mod manager as administrator. Q: Modmanager.rar or modmanager.exe gets deleted before I can run it. Or the mod manager doesn't start. Or it never loads screenshot previews. Or it fails to install mods.A: This is likely due to anti-virus (for instance, Windows Defender) flagging the mod manager as a false positive. Add the mod manager to the anti-virus' whitelist or temporarily turn off your anti-virus. Q: The "Launch game" button doesn't work!A: If it doesn't work, just launch the game manually. The button is only there for convenience. Q: I'm getting an error message similar to "Can't open PAK file for file invalidation."A: Go to your game install and make sure none of the PAK files are set to "read-only" when you right click them and choose properties. Q: The "Mod list" button is grayed out.A: That means the mod manager failed to automatically find your game install. Click on "Define game path" to manually choose where the game is installed. Q: I get a warning message about PAK files being too small.A: Make sure all mods are uninstalled, then go to your game install, delete any PAK files with the size 0, and then click on "re-read game archives" in the mod manager. Q: I installed an RE2 mod but I get an infinite loading screen ingame.A: This is most likely a problem with the mod. Some RE2 patches have made older mods incompatible. Q: The game got patched while I had mods installed. What should I do?A: To ensure everything is non-corrupted, do this in the following order: uninstall all mods, right click the game on Steam and choose "verify file integrity", and after that click on "re-read game archives" in the mod manager. Q: The game got patched but I didn't have any mods installed. Should I do anything?A: Just one thing, click on "re-read game archives" in the mod manager. Q: Whenever I try to install mods the mod manager claims the game is running, but it's not running.A: Click on Options and turn on "Advanced Options->Always Allow Mod Installs". If you turn this on, you should be careful and make sure you don't try to install mods while the game is actually running. It doesn't work with RE Engine games and SF5. Q: I can't install mods anymore, but they used to work!A: If all of the above solutions don't apply, try making sure your game install is clean: uninstall all mods, right click the game on Steam and choose "verify file integrity", and after that click on "re-read game archives" in the mod manager. Q: I'm playing using a pirated version and I can't install mods!A: I have no idea if my mod manager works with pirated versions of games and I'm not going out of my way to add that kind of support. Q: No matter what I do, I can't get Fluffy Manager 5000 to even run.A: If the mod manager fails to even start up, you can try earlier versions to see if they give you better luck. I have a selection of them available here: www.nexusmods.com/residentevil22019/mods/119?tab=filesQ: No version of Fluffy Manager 5000 runs for me.A: If you find no way to even run the mod manager, you can try this method for installing mods (warning, this is a bit fiddly and very limited in functionality): residentevilmodding.boards.net/post/117636Q: I've got a mod in a RAR format with a non-English filename and it's not showing up in the mod list.A: This is a limitation of the mod manager. Rename the RAR file so it has English characters only and then it will load. The mod manager doesn't properly handle anything with unicode text. Q: I install a mod and the mod manager says it was installed successfully, but I don't see the mod in the game!A: This is not applicable to all games, but do you own the DLC? For instance, a lot of RE2 mods require the DLC outfits to work. By the way, after buying and installing DLC, you need to remember to press the "Re-read game archives" button in Fluffy Manager so the mod manager becomes aware of the new PAK files. Q: I deleted the mod manager before uninstalling the mods I had installed. How do I remove the mods that I installed?A: Do one of the following sequences to ensure your game install is clean and free of mods: - Uninstall the game - Go to directory where the game was installed and delete all files in it (if you spot any configuration files or save files, I suggest leaving those alone). - Re-install the game OR - Go to the directory where the game is installed and delete the "natives" directory (almost all mods for RE Engine games have files copied to that directory) - If you know if you installed any mods in PAK format, delete any PAK file with "patch" in its name - Right-click the game in Steam, choose Properties, click on Local Files, and click on "Verify integrity of game files..." Q: I've got a Steam Deck and I can't get Fluffy Manager working!A: Unfortunately, I don't have a Steam Deck or a Linux install, so I'm basically clueless when it comes to this. But there is a thread on Reddit with information on how to get it working on the Steam Deck: old.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/tvvic2/fluffy_mod_manager_5000_modding_re2rere3re_on/

New WIP version: www.fluffyquack.com/WIP/modmanager.rarThis is a fairly big update as I've completely overhauled the UI: If anyone finds any bugs, let me know. This should be a stable version of the mod manager, and the state of the UI is pretty much final (though I might tweak it in the long run).

New version released (same as the WIP above): www.fluffyquack.com/tools/modmanager.rarv2.100: - Overhauled the UI (thanks to fatihG_ for the help). Some notes about the new UI: -- You can click on the mod preview screenshots to make it display fullscreen. -- The "main menu" is now a series of always-visible buttons to the right. -- The mod manager now defaults to showing the mod list when starting. - Made it possible to drag'n'drop mod RAR files directly onto the Mod Manager window which makes it move the RAR file into the corresponding directory for currently selected game. - For UE4 games (ie, Bloodstained and SoulCalibur 6), you can drag'n'drop a PAK file onto the Mod Manager window. - When creating UE4 pak files, you can store a modinfo.ini and screenshot.jpg at the root directory to make the Mod Manager load them. - Fixed a bug which prevented more than 1000 mods from being visible in the mod list. - Made the popup messages last a few more seconds. - If a new version of the Mod Manager is detected, then the mod manager shows the version of the newest version. - Optimized the code for mod conflicts when highlighting mods. - Added Resident Evil 7, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, and SoulCalibur 6 as supported games.

You could try uninstalling all mods, clicking on "Define game path" and make sure it has the correct path for the game, and then clicking on "re-read game archives".
