"Could not find re2.exe"... It's supposed to find the game's install directory automatically. Where do you have the game installed? It's in my secondary Steam app. location (D: drive -- C: is the primary). I edited the config.cfg and then even the DATA.cfg files, to direct "modman_rev2_dir:" to find the re2.exe (like I recall doing in the past for your mod manager). But... no dice. Is this a new build of the manager -- in that, can it not be 'manually' directed or overridden to find a given game's executable? Also, why are some mods 'requiring' the manager to install; while others can be just dropped into the game's directory as "natives" + DLC / numerical folders...?

Manually defining the directory should work fine. Did you have the game running at the time? And what's the full path to the game? My mod manager might not support paths with special characters. And many mods require the mod manager right now because this is the only method anyone has posted for modifying the main PAK file. The DLC mods people made worked by replacing the DLC PAK file with a 0-byte file and then copying all of the unpacked DLC files into the game directory. That doesn't work for the main PAK because we don't know all of the filenames (also, it would rather inconvenient as the main PAK file contains more than 60 thousand files). My method works by finding a specific file in the main PAK file and invalidating its entry (mod manager does this automatically), so the game loads the file outside of the PAK file.

Loading two mods that use the same .pak but change different files in them seems to work perfectly regardless of install/uninstall order (at least with the dlc I tested on), but you should probably note that if you use two mods that overlap at all you can break the .pak file.

"File size is too small for pak file..." Huh... Fixed it. Can't use other mods with this? Such as Default Leon/Claire hair? because when i try installing those with this mod manager i get errors too
All the older mods are compatible with the mod manager, just make sure you delete the folder with the empty pak file in it. You don't need that anymore with the mod manager, the only thing you need is the natives folder.

"One or more files failed to install due to unexpected changes in PAK files" (when installing older mods)
Is that normal? Thanks!

Did you keep any of the PAK files in the mods? If you did, that would mess things up.

I've hooked it with my game, but I can't click on "Manage Mods" as it's just greyed out. I have two mods in the mods folder for RE2R: Hunk and Ada mods How do I fix this? You don't need to hook onto the game (that's for the trainer). If "manage mods" is greyed out, that means it didn't find your RE2 install. I'll see about adding an easy way to manually define where the game install is. I don't know why it sometimes fails to find it automatically. "Error: Failed to open D:\SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/RESIDENT EVIL 2 BIOHAZARD RE2\re_chunk_000.pak" is the message I get when I try to activate a mod. Did you have the game running at the time? LOL I feel really dumb, yea, I had the game open. Thanks for your help

I get these errors when I load/click Re-read game archives
Warning: File size is too small for PAK files Resident Evil 2 BIOHAZARD RE2\\backups\ Error: Failed to read RE Engine PAK files
and when I click on a mod to activate it I get "can't install this type of mod without loading game archive file lists first
edit: nvm I fixed it by re-installing re2. I thought I fully uninstalled my old mods but I guess not. Probably some remnants of old mods conflicting with fluffy manager.

Okay, so yesterday I installed two mods, one that modifies outfit+hair and then one that modified the hair on top of it. Game worked fine. I exited and uninstalled the outfit+hair mod and then the game said it couldn't find the dlc and I had to copy over my backup. That being said, I just tried to replicate the error and now I can't so I'm not really sure what happened there.

didn't work. manual replacing files is much simpler and easier than this extremely complicated manager

I've found a bug which is probably related to this, so I'll try to fix this for the new WIP version. didn't work. manual replacing files is much simpler and easier than this extremely complicated manager Manually replacing files doesn't work for modding the main PAK file. So it's this or nothing right now. I'm trying to fix bugs and make the mod manager more user-friendly but I have many projects I'm juggling. File size is too small for pak file That sounds like you have old mods installed with 0-byte DLC PAK files. This is a big no-no as the mod manager needs the PAK files unmodified to function.

Wow! That's awesome progress! This opens up way more possibilities of modding than we had. Nice work! I'll be using this a lot.
