Uploaded a new WIP which should be more reliable for teleporting (the previous pointer I was using would sometimes point to the wrong entity): www.fluffyquack.com/WIP/modmanager.rarI can't open the RAR file. It downloads fine but throws error cannot open archive as RAR using 7Zip. Tried multiple downloads but keep getting same error. Can you try this download? www.fluffyquack.com/WIP/modmanager.rar - I've compressed it using a different version of RAR. It works! Thanks

As hilariously nightmare inducing as some of those experiments are, Emma over Claire actually doesn't look half bad. Nice work :3

I don't know if it's useful, but the folks at Fearless Revolution found the entries for all of Sherry's costume (infected + jacket, normal jacket, etc.) + all of Leon and Claire's variants (dirty 1, dirty 2, etc.) in their latest Cheat Table: Sherry's costumes postMain page of the Cheat Table updates, containing model swapping
Direct download link (Cheat table)From my understanding, it's a model swap as straightforward as it is. It applies a different mesh on characters of our choices (Leon, Claire, Ada, Hunk, Sherry), so it's not a character swap per se, it's a model swap. It gives access to more models than Fluffy's and we don't have the teleporting problem when loading an old save with a character swapped... We also have more options (Chris, black trucker at the end, etc.)... And switching sidekick character's model can give funny results (see videos above). ... But it doesn't have the novelty of entirely switching the character (with the corresponding animation, inventory and grunts). It feels less authentic basically. I'm sharing just in case it interests some or if Hex addresses can be useful.

Just glad I could help :3 I figured since Sherry wasn't getting as much research, I'd do some tinkering.

Oh god I'm goof, I didn't even realize you were the one behind it at Fearless Revolution xD Great job indeed, I think I've seen some people asking specifically for different variants of certain characters so it does definitely help.

I'm more motivated to do other kinds of modding than continue with this as I've spent a lot of time on it already. The increased list of characters is interesting as the IDs are the same I use (I stopped testing IDs once I hit a streak of ones which did nothing). Those different IDs would probably work with my method too, so I could add those if people want access to more characters using my trainer.

However, I'd rather have a "teleport to [name of safe room]" feature to be honest. Currently, if I switch character and load one of my own save file, I more often than else end in the middle of nowhere and I have to run manually with Zealot's noclip trainer to the playable area... Well, for anything that isn't the RPD (since the 0,0,0 location is apparently the front desk at the entrance lol) The other option is to load my save file, copy to clipboard my location, then re-load my file with the new character model and paste location... If we could at least have pre-defined coordinates linked to specific safe rooms, at least I could reach the playable area through the closest pre-defined safe room in one click... Like monitor room for the Sewer, Front desk for the lab, etc. I'm sure in the long run pre-defined locations would be helpful for any other type of trainers. But that would be more of a hassle for you I suppose?...

I could try to make a list of pre-defined teleport locations. What I've been doing is that I've been manually copying and pasting from a list of teleport locations (it's posted on the previous page). But it wouldn't be a lot of work adding that as a feature.
By the way, adding more playable characters using my method doesn't work after all. I looked around game assets and I found a list of "prefab" files for playable characters which match exactly with the characters which work with my method.

In worst case scenario there is Cheat Engine anyway.

It's not working for me, everytime I try it the game enters an infinite loading screen after closing it. I followed both fluffy and snipz tutorial. can I get some help. Nvm, it only happens when I try to play as Katherine.

No need to follow the tutorial anymore. Just download the .rar, unpack it, launch the .exe, select REMAKE2, launch game, activate trainer and then in it you should see "trainer's functions" which will lead you to what you need. Be cautious though because loading an old save with a new character model can result into you appearing outside the level very far away. It's always better to load your save normally, click on "copy position to clipboard", THEN proceed to the change, load your save again, and then "paste position" from the trainer. Also, make sure all important items are in the item box before the change because new models come with their own inventory.

Friend can tell me the offset to modify character in Savedata for PS4 [quo1te author=" FluffyQuack" source="/post/97827/thread" timestamp="1548724076"]I'll probably make a trainer for this, but for now, I'll be lazy and just write a quick tutorial on how to do it (and maybe it will encourage people to learn more about debugging and modifying assembly code, which can be a very powerful way to mod games). - Boot up game (stay in menus) - Boot up Cheat Engine - Hook onto RE2 - Click on "Memory View" - Right click top part of window and choose "Go to address" - Enter this address: 14E1E0768 (or 1516AD648 if you play Japanese version) - Right click the address at top of the list and choose "Toggle breakpoint" - In the game, load any savegame or boot up 4th/Tofu survivor - Cheat Engine should now have paused the game and highlighted the command/address you set a breakpoint on - In the top-right part of the Memory Viewer, double click the RDI register and enter the value for the character you want to play as - Press F7 once - Right click the address and remove the breakpoint - Press F9 (to unpause the game) - The game should now resume loading with the character you selected By the way, the game saves current character to the savegame, so once you've changed character, you can save and you'll keep being that character even after reloading. Note there are some major problems in regards to position. Characters seem to default to the main hall as position, and I don't think their position will update correctly after certain cutscenes. Another thing to note is that each character has a unique inventory. Make sure to put everything into storage box before changing character. Hunk/Tofu mode is the best place for changing character as everything works as it should there. Well, except for Sherry. Here's a list of character IDs: 00 = Leon 01 = Claire 02 = Ada 03 = Sherry 04 = Hunk 05 = Tofu 06 = Robert Kendo 07 = Chief Irons 08 = Ben 09 = Annette 0A = Softlock (supposed to be Chris) 0B = Softlock (supposed to be Ethan) 0C = Softlock (supposed to be USS) 0D = Marvin 0E = Softlock (not a character?) 0F = Softlock (not a character?) 10 = Softlock (supposed to be William Birkin) 11 = Softlock (supposed to be "Dead Man") 12 = Softlock (supposed to be John) 13 = Softlock (not a character?) 14 = Softlock (supposed to be Katherine?) 15 = Hunk again? 16 = Softlock (not a character?) 17 = Softlock (not a character?) Here are some videos showcasing changing character: [/quote]
