Two friends asked me about this question recently. I checked the tutorial list and found the old ones have been unavailable. So here is a brief new one
=========================================================================================
Some basic modding knowledges you should have known:
- how to use the datextract/repack/inject tools and Crzosk's tools
- where the location of the ita files is
- list of the name of rooms and the ID of the items
- how to use CE to get the coordinates
- the relationship between Hexadecimal and Decimal numbers
etc...
==============================================================================================
If yes you have known all above, refer to the pictures here and below are some clarifications:
- 1 and 2 are the item numbers. They shall be set accordingly.
- If the item number is linked with the programme, game may crash when you change it.
- If the first item number is repeated with the existing ones, you may get an item that can be picked up for unlimited times.
It disappears only when you come out of the stage.
This bug can be utilized as some secret rewards, like in my Enemy Cheat Edition 3.0.
No idea whether it works in UHD.
- 3 is the coordinates of the item.
- 4 is the light effect of the item. You will understand if you have a try by yourself. You can change it to 00, 01, 02 ... to 09 and see what it will look like
- 5 is how you can get this item. If it is 00, it is right there and you can just pick it up. If it's 01 then you have to shoot it down first. There are some other codes for special usages in the original game.
- in the last picture circles the connection between this item and other files
- When it begins with 02 like in the picture, they are connected with the ets file and 1C is the etc number. It maybe a barrel or a wooden box etc.
- When it begins with 01 then it is connected to the esl file, that means it is dropped by an enemy. IC x2 and you will get the enemy location in its file
- When it begins with 00, then it's a common item. Nothing connected. It is right there and you can just pick it up.
- Lastly in the square bars are the rotate values of the item. It is more convenient to edit this with Crzosk tools. You can try it yourself
==============================================================================================
To add a new item, the key steps are :
- 1. change the amount of items
- 2. copy an existing item codes and paste it to the end of the ita file
- 3. edit the item numbers, item names, amount, coordinates etc
- 4. save and repack/inject it to the dat file, restart to see the effect
=============================================================================================
That's all of the tutorial : )
