MEGA EDIT:Considering all the sub forums on here its a little difficult to find what I'm look for, I basically figured out what I need in order to edit the textures the way I want, basically I need to get the model into Blender and then smack the UV and Textures onto it and I can go from there!
I'm hoping someone can point me in the direction of a tutorial on getting the models into Blender.
OP:Hey guys!
So i've made a bunch of re-skins over the year for personal use but i'm beginning to hit a wall with what I can do.
I use CS6 (Photoshop) to edit all my files after extracting, which works well and good especially with simple models that don't have a lot of things attached to them (I'm making this post specifically because the BSAA outfit for Chris in REHD is driving me up a wall, ALL THOSE UTILITY CASES) and as the texture gets more complex its gets harder to know what maps where on a model especially in the case of BSAA Chris where everything is about the same color and has the same texture (Literal meaning) to it.
My question, i'm open to learning new programs if needed, is if there is anyway I can edit a texture while it is applied to a model.
As in I would have access to a texture to edit/draw on/rework and have it painted on a model in another window so I can see the texture being edited live. It would save so much time rather than, unpack, find texture, edit texture (hoping you places things correctly/edited the correct part according to what you want), repack, replace, boot game, load game, start new game, select outfit, skip the into cinemas and THEN see if what you did was correct.
Any help would be amazing!
EDIT: Looks like the answer I've been looking for is Blender, I just need to figure out how to import everything.
