i have been investigating this new format by curiosity: udas are package that can contain multiple DAT files whitch also contain multiple files ( a bit weird i would say). so // *.udas usefull header offsets for unpacking DAT files offset 0x24 : first dat file size offset 0x2C : header size offset 0x40 : unknow count offset 0x4C : second dat file size (offset = headersize + first dat file size)
///*.Dat header (local offsets ) offset 0x0 :num files offset 0x10 : array of offset start for each file one integer for each entry then : array of files extensions, one for each file offset (3 letters +/0) if the extension is 0x00000000 the file is null so the offset in the array point to the next file and must be ignored.
i have no time actually to do the tool to unpack now, maybe i will come with one if no one do it as i want to look at the models format. EDIT : UNPACKER is here : [PC]RE4UHD_UDAS_UNPACKER_repacker_va1.1just drop an uncompressed udas file on it and it will unpack it in a new folder and generate a *.lst file and a head file to repack, drop the lst file or the folder on the exe directly and it repack the udas in the folder. the exe must be in the same folder as the original udas or in the newly created folder for repacking via *.lst file.

So they're basically packages... containing more packages... Modding this game might be pretty damn confusing.

Good work Codeman, Valuable information here. I did however noticed the HD PC Ver. uses RDLX + Segs Header while the PS3 Ver. uses ZLDR Header, any idea ? The PS3 Version also uses a CRC Check I would guess (not sure about it) but swapping ESL (Enemy Spawn List) Files worked however ... All of the PS3 RE4 HD Files end with .crc so for example pl0b.udas.lfs would be pl0b.udas.lfs.crc ....

xbox version use xmemcompress/xmemdecompress natives xbox functions ps3 version use edgecompression (newest sony sdk for ps3 with lot of conpression even in faces indices)
anyway the model format seems like the gamecube format (with some changes and now in little edian) i will try to load some faces to check if it is really same format.

Good, so this means the old pmds should be compatible with this version once we have a tool for decompressing them

Interesting, Glad the model format is similar to the gamecube format, probably due to : PC UHD > PS3/360 HD > Wii Ver. (GC+PS2 Extras) > GC I could bet the model format is pretty much identical with all the above builds (most likely)

Why and how would it be the same, that's impossible, since it's based on the GC Ver. PC UHD is based on PS3/360 Which is based on Wii which is based on GC with PS2 Extras. Old PC Version is based on PS2 Code, I believe mods from bother version here can work correctly when done correctly ... but who needs to mod these versions ... now ? ....

That's really a shame, I guess we can re-utilize the models of our favorites mods, but then we need to re rig them which sadly I never was good at...
