So for what ever reason, the Resident evil movies are done, over, gone, dead BRB. Personally I like to think someone from capcom sat down with Paul and was like "So gurl, it goes like dis see, so like, our game is coming out soon, its gonna be VEEERY SKEERY. We can't be associated with what ever it is you people do. Cuz I mean, I don't even, I mean your movies are just awful and I don't understand, like washington, Wesker doored with the clone here and clone there, ashford marcus thingy on a doorknob just JUST AWFUL. We're pulling the plug." Oh how wonderful that would have been... SO YES, we're getting a new CGI resident evil movie that looks just like RE5 and RE6 (but no one will say that) dont worry i won't tell But for the actual films, what would you like to see for live action? I mean, I think they should go be knocking on Romero's door begging for forgiveness and get him back on board and give us a resident evil movie, I honestly wouldn't care if its just the first game with Chris and Jill falling in love, I would gladly welcome something like that to be honest, screw originality for now, we'll leave that for later when we're a bit more brave and trust ourselves a bit more. Lot of emotions and trust issues we all need to work on after this decade long fiasco especially with capcom following the movies and giving us PUNCHABOULDERMATRIXSTYLEOVERTHEMOONANDDOWNAMICHAELBAYEXPLOSIONGURLSONGGUYDOG. If you took the time to read that then you deserve a cookie. I haven't been on this forum for a while are we still doing the cookie thing? I have no idea. Anyways yea, put your ideas, you're deepest darkest secrets and desires down below and tell us what you want in a resident evil film now that we actually have a chance at a real resident evil film that we can take seriously. Woot. (Sorry, I just watched the last film..I am still somewhat upset and emotionally scarred, Ill get over it someday, but the water doesn't get hot enough, but ill keep scrubbing OH GOD WHY!)

I have Mixed feelings about wether or not they will end these. FINALE MOVIE ENDING SPOILERS! {Custom Spoiler} They ended it in a way that would let them make a sequel in the future. (Probably if they need more $$$)
They could of Killed Alice. But they Didnt.
They could of made the Airborne Anti-virus spread alot quicker and not take several years, But they didnt.
They Played it VERY Safe. And left the door wide open for any future Movies.

OOOOR...Or they could've just played it out as part of a veeeery bad dream, a nightmare, if you will. That every single one of those movies didn't happen, NOT in a RE universe, at least. How I wish someone from MIB would flash me one of those "forget-everything-you-saw-here" kind of things.

All joking aside, I honestly do not know how these companies work when it comes to permissions and such. But if it works the way I'm thinking atm, I highly doubt capcom would allow them to make anymore. It puts a bad name to the games, and yes thats been a thing for a while but Capcom is trying to do something special and bring back the horror, treating the fans with more respect and listening to them and overall giving us Resident evil 7 which in my opinion was a huge step in the right direction, so I just can't see them letting Paul make anymore crap action films out of Resident evil.

I know opinions opinions, like to each there own but my god dude. There has to be a limit, there just has to be. If you had of said I love them in the same why people love the room, then I would be like, ok that makes sense. But as a actual film, legit, just..Uuuuugh. Like seriously, these films aren't good for resident evil, they aren't. Not good for the fans, not good for capcom, definitely not good for the games.

Since the 3rd movie came out i was like. Where's Krauser?
Then one movie later.. where's Krauser?
And then one later i thought there would be some type of Krauser.
And then the final movie? NO KRAUSER?
Oh baby i'm really hoping for a reboot. And i don't want any princess Alice in it.

Hoping for a REboot of the films without P. W.S Anderson at the helm because he shoehorned Alice in since Milla is his wife.

God, please, not Romero. Literally anyone but that old communist. Aside from stupid characters, copious gore, and generally absurd ideas (zombies who run are bad, but zombies who use guns are apparently okay?), the last thing the franchise needs is George "If Only a System Existed Where People Invested Money in Art so My Films Didn't Suck so Bad" Romero making them a soapbox for political tirades. Survival of the Dead was a decent spoof movie, and Diary of the Dead is actually good, but then we also get Dawn of the Dead and Land of the Dead which are two of the worst, most incoherent films ever made (and I've sat through every RE but the last one and still feel that way). I've read the proposed script Romero had, and to sum things up: Pennsylvania isn't the Midwesst. Has anyone writing this franchise ever looking at a map? Wesker has tattoos. What even? Barry is black...which actually works. Barry is also "generic ex-military NCO guy who dies near the end" which is not, however. Chris has no military training but is significantly more competent than all the characters who do. Because...I don't know why, actually. Jill and Chris shacking up I guess sorta works...Ada being involved with James Marcus, on the other hand, requires an exclamation my voice isn't loud enough to make. Rebecca, whose sole defining character trait in the original game was innocence, swears...a lot. So...many...pregnant pauses...in dialogue. It's like watching the Twilight movies...apparently is, anyway. Not like I've ever sat through those or anything STOP JUDGING ME! There's also the fact, rumor has it, Romero actually paid his secretary to play the game and then summarize it for him because he couldn't be bothered to himself. So, keep in mind, he's literally being paid to make a film for a franchise he doesn't care enough about to spend actual time on.

I heard in a bunch of interviews that the movie was almost an exact copy of the game except for Jill and Chris getting together, had no idea he fucked with so many things though. Well shit...Well the better question, then who would be good for making a resident evil movie...

Well shit...Well the better question, then who would be good for making a resident evil movie... I think the guys who did the 28 Days Later films would have an interesting take on things; we'd also get a really cool, minimalist soundtrack, which works very well for the genre (as anyone who's played Killing Floor can attest; the soundtracks are very similar). Gareth Edwards has proven he has good writing chops, both in 2014's Godzilla and apparently also Rogue One although I've sworn off the latter franchise so I can't say for sure; the trick there would probably be convincing him to do it, since I don't know if he cares about the franchise, the same way he does Godzilla or Star Wars. Joss Whedon, of Firefly and Avengers fame would also be cool, but again, I don't know whether he'd do it for the same reasons as Edwards.

I just snorted in fear so loudly that I think I just coughed up dinner from 2008.

"how these movies are not good for the games?"
So, if you're as old as I am, you'll distinctly remember the first movie. It was pretty decent. Alice was a bit weird, but it had the slow occasionally spoopy pacing of the games, adapted DECENTLY enough for the film genre.
Then, and this is really easy to notice, the films get more actiony. Then, so do the games. This correlation is not coincidental. Slowly, but surely, eventually peaking in RE6. If you haven't already guessed it: The rampant financial success of the films made Capcom do a double take on the series' direction and they only recently decided to ignore the direction of the films with Rev2 and 7. Now, even though I like RE6 A LOT, I still think them amping up the action would not have been a good thing from that point on. Even RE6 still had some RE identity, but an even MORE action packed game likely would not have. So it's a good thing the films are done, lest Capcom get stupid ideas once more.
