I think I got it. Setting the update and freeze interval to 1 in CE settings seems to do the trick. Edit: Well, it's back. Didn't fix anything. Edit2: It certainly helps. It reduces the flickering to acceptable levels. The real problem becomes the shiny square where the flickering happens compared to the rest of the foggy screen.

Not the best solution but might be able to get around it by making two trainers, one for flicker 2 & 3 at 1ms interval and another one for the render width and height at 25ms. I'll ask Dark Byte how to set it for individual addresses, I don't know anything about lua script.

Yeah. Not the prettiest solution, but it may work. I think it's relative to mention that setting the interval to 1ms can create some lag itself.

We can't post in threads who haven't been active in two months, so I'm gonna go ahead and bump this right now. Mikhail did a lot of great work on getting this resolution problem fixed, and I believe I helped a little bit, too. But the game is still not in a playable state. Even with my fix for the flickering, there is still a square of different color palette, which is really annoying and turns the game into an unplayable geometric mess. Hopefully the solution can still be found.

Thanks for the valuable input. I have no idea how I didn't think of that earlier. I'll go ahead and sell one of my kidneys and buy a new pc because the devs can't do the simple job of letting you choose your own resolution. You're a life saver. Thanks a lot.

I think the square happens because the game uses various resolutions for different rooms, for instance the bedroom on the train is 1440p yet the carriages are slightly lower.

If that's the case, we can try extracting the textures and changing all resolutions to the same, right? We could try doing in one room just to test it. I'm a bit out of time atm, but I'll read the modding tutorials and try this when I can.

Maybe but it might throw out the 3d objects that are overlayed on top, then there's the two aspect ratios. 1990x1492 1920x1440 A change of camera angle and again another resolution 2400x1440

But what if we made all textures the same resolution we're forcing internally?

But what if we made all textures the same resolution we're forcing internally? I didn't think they where background textures but video files playing like GIF's maybe i'm wrong but I seem to remember someone this before for the gamecube version.

Did verteks or any other modder find a solution to this just like in RE1Remaster?
Cheers
