I would love to see Capcom release a stand-alone Mercenaries content, combining the best elements of RE4-6. I wanted to start a discussion to share people's thoughts on how this game would function, since there are so many differences between the games. The only certainty is that it would bring together basically every main line RE character in one game. And yes, I know a title like this exists on 3DS, but I'm talking about a full-featured console/pc game.
I think the game should use RE5 as a base, with some modifications. RE5 was the most balanced game and had the deepest system. RE4 was very simple, while RE6 was just madness. No maps of enemies from RE6 would appear, but the characters (Piers, Carla, Helena) would.
The game should use a scoring system based on both time and combo, to encourage players to use both but reward either.
Not sure if an RPG system would be a good idea, but I think enabling characters to swap weapon sets with each other would be fun.
I would also appreciate if Capcom released development tools so that modders can have an easy time doing all sorts of crazy stuff.
There are so many other things, but I want to see what others think.

Big Mercenaries game would be a dream come truth. They should take RE6 (movement/combat/Mercenaries rule set) as their base since those are the best and most varied Resident Evil ever had, they also should make a couple of modifications since RE6 Mercenaries were not perfect: 1). They should nerf counter kill time bonus from 10 seconds to 7-8 seconds since RE6 proved 10 is too much, most of pro runs just went full counter fests because of this and counter fests are not all that fun to watch, nor to play. 2). Change inventory system to RE5 model with RE6 health tablets on top. 3). Cut out cover system since it's completely useless anyway.
All major characters to be present is a must of cause, we would also need around 20-30 maps, half old classics, half fresh and new.
