Something I pointed out on my blog elsewhere: The first Vendetta trailer featured the tenor aria Vesti la giubba from Pagliacci, though the trailer only contained: Recitar! Mentre preso dal delirio, non so più quel che dico, e quel che faccio! Eppur è d'uopo, sforzati! Bah! Sei tu forse un uom? Tu se' Pagliaccio! Vesti la giubba e la faccia infarina. In English - Act! While in delirium, I no longer know what I say, or what I do! And yet it's necessary... make an effort! Bah! Are you not a man? You are a clown! Put on your costume, powder your face.
This ends on the beginning of the second section of the aria, and it matches up with the rest of the aria against the trailer - La gente paga, e rider vuole qua. E se Arlecchin t'invola Colombina, ridi, Pagliaccio, e ognun applaudirà! Tramuta in lazzi lo spasmo ed il pianto in una smorfia il singhiozzo e 'l dolor, Ah! The people pay, and they want to laugh. And if Harlequin shall steal your Columbina, laugh, clown, so the crowd will cheer! Turn your distress and tears into jest, your pain and sobbing into a funny face – Ah!
Which brings us to the lyrics of the second and final section of the aria: Ridi, Pagliaccio, sul tuo amore infranto! Ridi del duol, che t'avvelena il cor!
Laugh, clown, at your broken love! Laugh at the grief that poisons your heart!
Just something I thought was interesting. Especially as the lyrics to the aria kind of were bit of a hint with this second trailer in a sense too. I don't know, it's just interesting to me as I like opera and recognized the aria in the first place. (And is it Rebecca on the table?)

OOOhhhhh THATS INTERESTING altho Chris Loves jill ? or maybe he likes Rebecca XD so confused now :C The term, although within the opera is the clown's wife the phrasing used can also just be read like 'little dove' which is suitable for Rebecca as she is bit of a peacekeeper as you see in the trailer she stops Chris and Leon arguing. She was also being a peacekeeper during The Stage show (first half as we're waiting on a second to wrap that part of the story up). Like the opera has the clown's wife actually being a mistress to Harlequin and that the clown must continue the show despite being well aware of this. The other implication is that Rebecca is getting set up for things, because we all know how Chris reacts and the localization has intentionally messed with things in English in a lot of the games. So that's to say that anything happening to others is to intentionally get at Chris and people he cares about in general because it's his fault, but with things being staged it may be easily mistaken to be something else as it's on purpose. Arias also standing there with his hands behind his back is the typical pre-bow performance motion too, so that's why I thought the opera nod was fitting as they're very clearly being given the run around to become involved in this particular performance.

Bummer. And I was hoping it was his voice when Chris said "And it was our mission to bring his ass down!" Well, they did let me down...

Unfortunately, not very likely unless Capcom Japan took over the VA direction again as they intentionally did with Darkside Chronicles or Capcom USA starts doing voice over again out of Toronto again instead of LA. The voice director / casting director for 4 was sort of known for cracking the whip until the VAs held a particular standard of lines, like she also directed the Dragon Age games off the top of my head for that sort of thing. It's like we also keep hearing D.C. Douglas because he has his own recording set-up at home, a lot of the other VAs still needed to go to recording studios because they didn't really have anywhere quiet at home to work. I agree though, I like all of Leon's VAs as they've all been really lovely to chat with.

OK so I hope the enemy's motivations are not paper thin on this one.
Time to discuss this suspected BOW blonde chick. she's decomposing in a skin tight weirdly cut battle suit. I know Capcom are big fans of tropes but is the "dead but still hot" relevant to this series?
