Hi all,
This probably will be big year for RE franchise, we already got RE0HD which in my case plays very good without any problems at all(I hope you guys/girls who have problems with this game, soon will be able to get some proper patches and fixes) , also we have an upcoming Umbrella Corps which coming this may (yep this is not a re game we would love to get, but some ppl may enjoy it so why not? but personally hmm i guess i would like to try this out, if the price wont be high) I guess if there wont be any original characters included (whatever as dlcs or as unlockable bonus) this game may end up very boring. But we will see about it. Next we probably will have some teasers/trailers for RE2 Remake this year (Now this game , i really cant wait) Aaaand probably some mention about RE7 maybe even very very small teaser. But here is what i come up with, capcom tried different things with re franchise, with RE5 and especially RE6 they go away from survival horror for almost pure action. Umbrella Corps basically is nothing more than online third person fps. But you know, i guess capcom should try this - a pure spin off. I mean look at Yakuza series for example - they had brilliant Ishin which events happen in feudal japan. How great would it be to see favorite characters in new setting? I guess that would be fresh and at the same time will satisfy fans/admirers (include me) who dont want re franchise to be rebooted. Why not to try this? New setting can be anything, space adventure or heck even feudal times? I think that would work with re. Spae would work pretty decent i think, alike death space series? Zombie epidemic on a space station? Bring it in) Too bad capcom didnt tried that with re franchise. What are you think ppl? This can work or not?

CAPCOM and their development teams are not focused whatsoever. That's why we get shit outsourced spin-off games. I'd like that we finally get a main-series game, a continuation of Revelations 2, and ultimately Remake 2.

Yeah Revelations series are damn good) I really enjoyed REV2) And for real, cant wait for RE Remake))) As for Capcom and their DT , yep unfortunately they are NOT focused enough...... I mean for real, the last time (for me personally) when RE game had good story line it was REV2. In past games - RE2 still stands as the best one for me) Code Veronica was quite good in terms of story (but it never was my favorite RE game though) (and also that badass opening even though it was good, it was quite stupid - i mean Claire tried to destroy umbrella facility alone??? that was too cheap even by RE standarts) RE4 of cource was damn good game. But i didnt like the way they handled Ada's Separate Ways, it was sooo cutted. I dont understand why they couldnt put two full story lines in one game like it was in RE2??? , but maaan if Ada's story would be THAT long and full as Leon's , RE4 would be really 10 out of 10 RE game))) I did enjoy RE6 for what it was, but that game was sooo about run&shoot that you dont even had time to just stop for a min and look around. RE6 always trying to force you to run, run , run...... As for story, hmmm, the whole plot wasnt bad, but it was executed quite bad. I mean there is sooo many plot holes, and even stupid moments, my favorite one - Ada and Leon both actually had a mobile numbers of each other in this story))) Lets hope RE2 Remake will be decent and that REV3 is in development))) As I already mention before this will be big year for RE, a lot of news coming, i just hope they wont disappoint)))

I agree. There have always been plot-holes in the series. We have never had tight and focused stories, but RE5 maybe - even that had highly absurd moments and cliché writing. It's what makes the games what they are.
I wish the next game had influences from all of the titles in the series - smooth controls, inventory management, great music and effects, puzzles, actually shocking and memorable plot twists (Alfred posing as his "dead" sister for decades).

Yeah, of cource this is games, so im not expecting oscar type storylines and plots, but you know RE2 was with quite decent story and characters, so with full remake , im actually awaiting that devs will put their time for some story improvements (like maybe - fixing some plot holes and polishing dialogs here and there) , seriousely - RE2 was their best RE game, so while making all new graphics , gameplay and etc why not take time and fix some momets in the story , and make best of the best RE game ever??? but at the same time i feel that capcom wont bother too much about story fixing, if not bother AT ALL.... As for "I wish the next game had influences from all of the titles in the series - smooth controls, inventory management, great music and effects, puzzles, actually shocking and memorable plot twists (Alfred posing as his "dead" sister for decades)." Yeah, agree we all wish the same things i guess, but i dont know, even though RE6 plot was not bad with that Ada story twist, it was executed quite bad with a LOT of plot holes and just simple dumb moments, who knows what story we will see next... All capcom need to do, is to hire a decent scriptwriter, and then move on with new game... too bad Shinji Mikami wont work with capcom again.... some ppl didnt like Evil Within, but in my case it was damn good game, for real it was soooo RE game))) That village and some enemies, situations, even some character relationships looks sooo familiar)))

Well I hope *someone* makes some games with Oscar winning storylines, otherwise I'm afraid it may only be a matter of time before the video game industry has another crash.

Well I hope *someone* makes some games with Oscar winning storylines, otherwise I'm afraid it may only be a matter of time before the video game industry has another crash. Well, there IS games (non RE) with decent scriptwriting, and stories, the problem is that there is not MUCH of this games out there, i too really wish that not only capcom but many other devs too, would quit with simple milking their franchises, and for real made something decent and memorable not only with decent gameplay/graphics and etc, but with really interesting stories. If you ask me, the last time i saw decent zombie type game with solid story alike re , with decent script - my answer is simple "The Last Of Us" - this was the game i enjoyed from the start to finish. Both story and gameplay was damn good) And i must say Revelations 2 borrow some ideas from that game, which in final result was good. As for RE, i can only wish that someday capcom will make decent RE game with really decent script/story. They can do it, but for some reason(probably money, but who knows...) they dont want to hire solid scriptwriter.......
