Hi guys!
I created a mod that replaces the boring REmaster font with something closer to the original GC REmake. It's not THE same font but I think it looks good enough. You can install it with Fluffy Manager.

Hallo,
thank you very much for this. I also disliked the new font. Yours is much better.

Out of curiosity, is there a method you followed to create the font? I've tried a couple different ways, but it ends up as gibberish in-game.

Not really but I remember having some problems because of the limited space and position of each character and symbol so you have to be careful with that.

I have a question if I may. Is there a way to change the main menu font as well? For some reason the default one appears super pixelated to me.

You mean the "Load Game" and "New Game" text font? I don't remember which file it is but I think it is possible to replace it.

It looks like it's possible to replace (title01_ID_HQ in title_eng.arc in nativePC/arc/id/e_rom/title folder), but the problem is that the .tex file is stuck at a fairly low resolution. Changing it looks to be impossible, and at that size simply replacing the font won't make it look any less aliased.

I agree. The resolution is the biggest limitation in this case.

Changing it looks to be impossible, and at that size simply replacing the font won't make it look any less aliased. The alternative or next best thing could be to simply use a smudge tool (i use GIMP, not sure what PS calls it) and smudge the edges of the font. It could possibly help mask the jaggedness. Id try it myself but I dont know how to open .tex files.

Just drag and drop the .tex file to the REHD .bat that comes with ARCtool and it'll convert it into a .DDS file, which I believe can be opened with GIMP (I use Photoshop). Make your edits, drag and drop the .DDS file back onto the .bat, and that'll convert it back into a .tex file.

Yeah, no luck with what i tried.
Its was either a solid font (as in no glow or soft edges) or increasing the white glow to hide the aliasing.
both look just as bad.
