Quick question, what exactly is the GCN DOF/Specular Highlights in the game? What examples or side by side comparisons can I see between the HD versions & the Nintendo Versions? technically is another lazy port. RE 4 Ultimate HD, will not feature shader effects there´s no bump maps, specular gloss, depht of field, some reflections and HDR like light effects from GCN/WII version. I´ll make some screeshots for comparison, and i´ll post it here soon

Here is : There´s very few Ultimate HD screenshots, so i can´t make comparisons about other missing graphic effects like some water reflections, lights ,and more Bump maps and DOF DOF Wii edition screenshots :Take a look at the blur effect in the back, it creates a more photorealistic feel.. HDR Check the light effect coming from the torches, looks more "vivid" in the WII edition. there are more ambient lights on Wii edition too, check Leon´s and Ashley faces and body. Specular highlights: This effect is created from the mix of two shader effects , specular gloss, and bump maps. Re4 wii/GCN uses it to create more realistic surfaces, like plastic, metal, leather, and meat, ex: items, characters costumes and gear, and enemies skin. Take a look at the monster skin , it looks more organic on Wii,on Ultimate HD it looks flat and unrealistic like in the old RE port for PC, check Leon´s gloves too!

Heres another pic I found : Well, in this Pic, the camera is bit "zoomed-out" in over-the-shoulder aim, does this suggest that we can tweak the camera like we can do currently like in RE6 ?

No Speculars Maps? So No Shiny Hunk/Clothing? unfortunately not, but we can start complaining on the Steam forums, and maybe if enough people complain, they will fix it before release. after so many years I think we deserve a decent version of RE 4 for PC.

I looks like most texture improvement comes from aplying "alien skin blowup" photoshop filter to the original textures. It's pretty obvious on the screenshots Martins posted before. The only actual new textures appear on those SD/HD comparisson images of the first stage...

Are you the same Albert that created the hi res textures for the old RE4 PC port?

Yes, I am. This great announcement made me emerge from my lethargy My last post was about the environment textures. It seems Ashley clothes received a better treatment! And ganados' textures... I'm not sure... maybe they kept higher resolution textures for enemies and now Capcom take them out from their "vault" for this occasion. I can't wait to extract all textures from this new port! I'm guessing they just updated the more obvious and easy to remake textures (plain wood, metal, and simple textures) and I'd say is not likely they redoing more complexe textures unless they kept higher resolution versions. And there were lots of textures that looked like they reached their limits and even on gamecube looked a little blurred, so no higher resolution available.

Hey Albert, any plans for a RE 6 texture patch? That game really needs this, a least for environments.

I hope so! In fact that texture patch is completely outdated. All this years I've been looking for the original textures Capcom used for his game and I found dozens of them! That door is an example. It's a random door placed on Calle de Velarde, Segovia, Spain maps.google.com/maps?q=segovia&ie=UTF8&ll=40.952455,-4.129422&spn=0.00514,0.008256&hnear=Seg%C3%B2via,+Castella+i+Lle%C3%B3,+Espanya&t=h&z=18&layer=c&cbll=40.952436,-4.129268&panoid=9HpWjheyCSViCjLOXCk0jg&cbp=12,312.97,,0,19.94 But since the PC port was crap I never found the motivation needed to implement them ingame. Now with real time cutscenes, hi-poly objects and decent lightning is another story! Too bad they didn't keep the files needed to run realtime Separate Ways' cutscenes... Ah well, a black spot in a huge sea of glory ...is not that terrible lol! I never thought about RE6 texture patch but certainly some areas need a few tweak. I think the street area before Iluzija battle was the worst example... that blurred textures were the scariest thing in the game! Fortunately, I'd say most of those textures were duplicated with higher resolution in other areas. Am I wrong?
