And to be fair Alice didnt have her powers in Afterlife AND retribution and she was still badass! well that settles it, I don't want her in Resident Evil games period lol. Didn't know she was still OP even without those powers (I stopped watching the movies after Extinction) so I would imagine a game with her would be like Chris's campaign in RE6 which was just over the top action at every corner. I'm sorry but I guess I'm more of a fan of what made Resident Evil relevant in the first place which is its unique brand of survival horror, I just want that back not another RE6 affair and if Alice is in it I just get this gut feeling that is what its going to be.

To be fair she could still have her powers AND be in a survival horror game Its all dependant on how they lay it out, but I would honestly love to see her ingame espeically with those badass costumes, and maybe some cool movement mechanics, they could make it like mission based, so that even with her super powers there could be some things Alice cant do idk But seeing her in a game would be awesome, and if its off from the story who cares if its a shoot em up?

I just miss Resident Evil games being about survival horror, Revelations 2 was a definite step in the right direction in my opinion but to many Resident Evil games have strayed from the survival horror genre the Resident Evil series redefined.

Its cool if this is some fans cup of tea, I know plenty of fans that are fans of the more action oriented Resident Evils and even ORC, but that just is not the type of Resident Evil game I'm into and if this is more of the same I will be sitting this one out.

The issue for me on the matter of the inclusion of Alice, is that like most film adaptations , the "Resident Evil" Film Series deviates from its source material. Not only a bit, but majorly. Taking huge liberties with the plot, characters and the atmosphere of the games. In turn since the beginning of the film series in 2002, the games in turn have been adapted by the developers to be essentially more and more like the films. No doubt thinking of profits of the films, they made the games with heavy focus on action, explosions and cut scenes. If I wanted an action movie I would buy a DVD, not pay 60$ for a game and have nearly 20 GB sitting on my hard drive.
I will admit that I find the latter action titles more generally fun for myself (RE:5 and RE:6) due to the co-op and the aesthetic beauty of Chris Redfield. (Yes I am singing "Macho Man"!) However I have to respect and appreciate the atmospheres of the RE: Remake and RE: Zero as they were about a lurking vibe and mostly a story (even if it is a bad one). RE:2 was a more serious version of RE:1 and even though that had its cheesiness for me, it had it's scary moments for when we were younger.
Alice is of another canon like some inter-dimensional Marvel or DC Universe manner. To include her in a game is kinda out of the question for me, because although RE is verging on sci-fi proportions, it hasn't gotten to "that" level of sci-fi in its canon yet. Marvel vs Capcom is a non canon series, so is ORC. So if Alice is in a game she'd better be in a non canon game too. As a character Alice would not be bringing anything entirely new to the game series as all her attributes are/were in other characters at this point. To include her in the main canon is to really negate the apparent canon, such as Sherry's parents being dead or the apparent death of Albert Wesker. I mean if you're gonna add a non canon character as is, without any changes, then who's to say that the rest of the established canon is any less malleable. It'd be more appropriate for Milla Jovovich to play as a different character if she was to be in the canon games. Ultimately Capcom would have to pay her a large sum of money if she was to be in a game, unless she was generous to do something for free. But she does have bills to pay like everyone else.
Anyway I don't mean to offend people who enjoy the character, I'm just voicing my opinion.
For all we know, "Umbrella Corps" is an episodic novella where the Villains tell their side of things throughout the series with the first book being: The Diary of Carla Radames.

Haha, you included the word "apparent" to avoid a barrage of passionate, angry messages on Steam, didn't you, Beefy Busch? But very nicely said, that's exactly it for me. I hate those movies because they're essentially generic zombie movies with "RESIDENT EVIL" slapped on them as if that somehow makes them more like the source material. If they didn't play any of the games before making the movie, shame on them - and if they did, shame on them even more. You can't screw up the characters and story like that and not expect to alienate many of the people who are watching because they love the games (and I would think the majority of the audience would be people who had played the games). When a movie makes RE5 look like it makes sense in comparison, you know something went horribly wrong. But you put it in a more calm way as opposed to my vitriol, so I applaud that.

Whats so wrong with alice she is bad ass Nothing is wrong with her in my opinion as far as being cool goes. She has powers and shoots guns like a boss. HOWEVER, whats wrong with her from a potential gameplay standpoint is that if she is the main character chances are the game is going to be another shootem up action game rather than actual good ole survival horror one which is what a lot of fans want back. You can't have a survival horror game while playing as a super powered gunslinger lady. And that is why I personal do not want her in a Resident Evil game, now having said all that I could be wrong, they could have her in the game WITHOUT her powers and make it a survival horror game fans have been craving, but Alice without her powers isn't exactly Alice now is she? Maybe if they implement her in a side story mission where after you beat the game her story is all GUNS BLAZING and BADASSERY... or maybe as a Mercenaries character that is OP

I hope there is original material and depth in Umbrella Corps. Revelations 1 could have been good, but the new characters were cardboard and the story wasn't anything out of the ordinary - the menacing terrorist group, the city invaded by creatures we had already seen, a virus that never made its presence felt on a set piece that was well made, but rather lacking in depth. The Queen Zenobia and the creatures encountered on it were the only saving graces. I was very disappointed with that game.
Such is the case when the developers bring out new titles quickly. I'm afraid that Umbrella Corps might be another one, but I'll wait and see.
