MOD NAME: Jill Valentine Battle Wetsuit ORIGINAL AUTHOR: Yoichi ORIGINAL MOD RELEASE: z6.invisionfree.com/Resident_Evil_4_PC/index.php?showtopic=26633MOD DESCRIPTION After comparing models of Jill's Wetsuit with Jill's Battle suit I saw similarity in many ways except for belts, straps and diving equipment. Other than that, the model was almost perfect for merging with battle suit textures. I used gamerclint81s textures from his briliant "Boss Jill Battlesuit" Resident Evil 5 mod. Big thanks to him for letting me use his work. You can check out his original mod at Reseident Evil 5 forums. I edited all maps, made Jill blonde, her skin tone a bit paler and replaced wetsuit textures with battle suit ones. Also, there is now new portrait in Raid Mode character selection screen. It took me some time to test it all and I'm happy with the results. There are some minor tweaks to be done in future. MOD PREVIEW: Video presentation done by moca357 (great work and big thanks!) You know, i've been super curious for a good year or 2 now. So I have to ask. When people port over Jill Battlesuit and/or it's textures. Why is it that the legs become this bright blue and the black gets lighter? I mean, it's not like that in RE5 right? Looks a pretty uniform black and purple all over in that game. So yeah, really curious about that.
As for this mod, it looks pretty good. Though I currently have a mod which replaces wetsuit Jills face for her RE5 face. So I probably wouldn't install this unless there was a version with her face swapped for RE5 Jill and brown hair. But the mod itself looks good so good job.

Spirit Warden To be honest and you probably read it in the description, I used textures from RE5 mod and worked around to make them compatible with Revelations. I did notice that color differs from torso. I haven't played RE5 and I don't think I would. Zombies are too messed up in that game and I can't bare with it (I'm more Dino Crisis fan). I watched some Jill RE5 gameplay and her battle suit looks as you described it. So, if you have that knowledge, you can contribute community. If you have RE5 resources, you could supply me with Jill original textures and send me her RE5 head mod so I can combine that and my own mod so we can make perfect Jill.

Dino Crisis!!!!! YEEEESSS!!!! Loved DC1 and 2, 3 was a bit awkward but I still like it :3 As for the RE5 Jill thing. I've never had any luck with Resident Evils' resources. I don't know why, but it just seems to awkward so I stopped trying fairly quickly >_>. Shame really because there is some nice stuff that can be done but my style of modding is more a: Take *model file name* and rename it to *desired model name*. replace and model swap complete. I know, so lazy. And the Las Plagas are an enemy concept i've hated since RE4. They made 4 and 5 feel like I was fightning regular people and that just felt.....meh. Bosses were whatever and RE4 just kept getting stranger. Village to castle with monks and then an island...no....no. I saw some work in progress mods a few years back. One to swap enemies for the corpses, another to make all enemies unarmed and instead shamble like a zombies and lastly one to make it night instead of day. None were ever finished but that could have made RE5 into something.

Excuse me, but what do you mean by saying the original textures? I mean, do you not have used resources RE5 with textures her battlesuit to create that reskin?

The original textures are really that bright blue, or the brighter black color. CAPCOM uses shaders (or something of that sort, I guess) in RE5 so they look darker in game. Most textures in the game have that special lighting to make them look better. (Character's hair, eyelashes, even some clothing) Extracting them from RE5 and porting them to another game makes them lose that special lighting unless the person porting them photoshops them to mimic it. Does that make sense? lol

Does that make sense? lol That makes sense. Though idk much about these sort of things but that sounds like an exteremly ineffective way of doing things. It like how the default shaders for RE6 mess up model swaps without wilsonso's shader mod. Sounds like it would have been simpler just to make the whole texture purple and dark black, instead of just making the legs bright blue and lighter black + shaders to make them normal. Edit: I downloaded a mod a few weeks back which added Jill Battlesuit's model to Fallout 3. The legs were messed up so I tried using GIMP to fix them. It's quite hard, the image itself looks like this dark, barely visible grey thing and only then did it look right in-game.

Spirit Warden You should check out WIP section then and see how big Regina fan I am. Shame. It takes you only one step to start modding and the rest of it is your will. Yup, fighting regular people and mutilating them is just disturbing. My thoughts exactly. Night Furious I have them from RE5 mod, but I thought they were edited or so, because of leg color and mismatch with the rest of the body. reituolc I was starting to suspect that is the case. And really I could mimic that in photoshop with ease. So, to make things clear: Same purple color for all blue parts of the suite and darker black for black parts? I'll make those changes in the next release. Spirit Warden I agree, waste of resources. princeghost Thanks, really appreciate it. @all Here's something you would like. Too bad it's Shigu's work and he is no longer present on forums so we can't ask him for permission to use it.

To be honest, if the textures were fixed and the face model was swaped to RE5 Jill, might as well make it a full Wetsuit to Battlesuit model swap lol. (Or even made as an alternate option)

Night Furious I appreciate the effort, but could you please upload that file to MediaFire? I have trouble downloading it.

@all Here's something you would like. Too bad it's Shigu's work and he is no longer present on forums so we can't ask him for permission to use it. Obviously I can't speak for Shigu, but I don't see why anyone would have a problem with you using his RE5 head if you give him full credit for making it. & if anyone gives you flack, remove the download link and replace it with a version with the original head. ^^
