Where on Earth do I start modding my game. It all just looks so confusing! I would really appreciate any help that comes my way. I can't seem to find any tutorials that start fresh for RE 6. All I would like to do is re-skin characters in the campaign. EG - Helena ---> Claire. Or Leon ---> RE 4 Leon.
Please could someone tell what tools to use, how to use them, how to import my mods and basically get the just of modding RE 6. I have had some experience of modding before (Skyrim) but not much.
All help is massively appreciated!
Thanks a ton!

I don't think that this is in the right section (Probably should be under general modding chat-> Modding questions, but hey whatever.) but I'd be happy to give you some help on where to start. First and fore-most you are going to need Fluffy's ARC unpacker/repacker script. This script contains a read-me on how to get it working properly and is quite easy to follow. If you're doing re-skins all of the textures should be auto-converted to .dds files after being extracted from the arc, so they're quite easy to edit in most photo editors like Paint.Net, Photoshop, etc. The other valuable resource on this forum is the arc list, which provides the listed content of most of the arc files within the game. It'll be your best friend when trying to figure out which arc files you'll need to replace which characters/enemies/objects. If you want to start importing models on the other hand, that gets a lot trickier. I myself don't have any programs (or the funds to purchase said programs legally) that can help with model editing. But there are quite a few video tutorials on how to use 3DS max. What you will need to do (presumably like I said, I haven't even attempted this stuff yet.) is learn how to A) Rig the models to the proper RE6 bone proportions and B) skin the textures properly including alphas, normals, etc. The script you will need can be found here. you can use this to output custom models properly fitted for the game from 3DS max. I hope this helps! And happy modding!

Thanks for the Info This is the mod I'll be using: residentevilmodding.boards.net/thread/136/dsc-theme-projectSomeone else on the site told me that all i need to do is copy and past the files in a folder (Resident Evil 6\nativePC\arc\DX9) However what you said seemed a lot more complicated than that. I don't want to seem like a total annoyance

No lol, sorry for the confusion xD. I have the mod working perfectly now! Thanks so much! Only issue is that some of the skins are for 1.5 whilst my RE game is 1.6! So do you know any way as to set it back to the older versions. No biggy if there isn't a way.

If you look for wilsonso's trainer in the other modifications section it includes a 1.0.5 .exe file. all you need to do is replace the .exe in the game's main folder and it'll work fine.

What main folder?I can't find the exe Wherever you install your steam programs to. By default it's usually under one of these two locations. 64 bit windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Resident Evil 6 32 bit windows: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Resident Evil 6

I know where to find the folder. But where in it? I tried replacing the BH6.exe but that didn't work. Do I put it in one of the folders? The Data folder? I'm confused xD
