I can't fathom how long it would take to just remaster one of the backgrounds. It's different with RE4 because it's just one texture at a time they have to work on.

I highly doubt we will ever see a project like RE4hdproject for REmaster

well actually it can be done using assets from re5 gold or some other game to render the scene from 3D but it would require an amazing amount of time to setup and render the 800+ background of the game. anyway good luck on this, on my side i will return at collision data reversing as this format is pretty weird.

no, the hd remake is 2d, only the collision data is 3d but no texture are applied on it, the background is applied on 2d flat surfaces i think, i will know more once i reverse the whole .sbc files and import it in 3dsmax. if i manage to do so, we will maybe be able to generate some 3d collision data and use our own backgrounds. i think collision data also contain various infos like the doors events zone, typewriter zone,etc.. mainly a 3d floor surface with specifics parameter to say whitch event to do if you click the action button, still an asomption but i am pretty sure it is like that.
also you can still use UC models to do a render and use it to replace the actual room backgrounds using same camera angles etc..

That will also fix the multiple clipping shadows I believe... Plus it would add graphics consistency between all areas. And... there would be place for improvement of 3D objects.

Probably it will be easier to drop the whole initial 3D area recreation into 2D backgrounds process altogether and just 2D paint over chosen backgrounds that are particularly bad in Remaster, such as The Aqua Ring. A good 2D artist is needed for this.

some progress on collision data, still a lot of work to reverse it to do..
each room have multipe collision data files, highter poly one may be used for the real time shadows i think

Hmm... wouldn't these collision "models" be prone for conversion and enhanced if needed be, to actual 3D rooms... ? They look quite Hi-Poly...
