It's certainly confusing me. I've also tried converting the whole file from big endian to little endian (and vice versa) as codeman suggested, but I still can't get it to match the screenshots of r106.ems in the original post. So far I've managed to change a single zombie from one type to another, but I can't go any further than that because I can't work out what the other values signify. i'll try and work this out soon... see if i can locate the changed stuff and update the main post with new pictures

I'm new to modding and I am trying to replace Forest (Grenade Version) with Tyrant. And replace Lisa with Tyrant. Since I saw the Nemesis mod out there. I'm a noobie when it comes to modding. I hope I can get a little help from anyone, so I can get started. I would like to make some mods that I think people would enjoy.

Wow! When I originally read this thread, I was really happy about modding, because of one magic word "Easy". But when you tell me the mod I want to create isn't easy or impossible, I hopes of making my first mod seem unlikely now. I mean sure I could make a audio mod. But I wanted my first mod to be really awesome. I even tried modding enemy or weapon sound effect files, but it seems the games crashes when you mess with the sound arc files. I honestly think Capcom didn't want this game modded at all. I never used Modding software or Hex Editor, so I was really in the dark about a lot of things. But is it possible to add more enemies? Like add 3 zombies in the Shotgun area? Like in the old PS1 game, there were 3 zombies in that area in Arrange Mode. I want to bring back some of the classic enemy spawn locations. So you be forced to save ammo and use every resource you have to survive.

I will give it a shot. I'll let you know the results. also the crashes of modifying bomb zombie were on the GC version. i have not tried in remastered so maybe it is possible. like i said i have not tried it, so there is the chance it is possible on remastered. this also requires investigation. EDIT: i will also change the main post to not have the incorrect GC information. and if I or someone else figures that out i will update it with the correct methods. DOUBLE EDIT: modified main post, and fixed some typo's that were copied from the original tutorial.

I like that idea of adding enemy spawns! I wonder if it will be possible to add more hunters on the 2nd mansion visit because even the hard difficulty I still feel theirs a major shortage of hunters compared to the original.

No one's fault except Capcom's, for not remaking RE2 and RE3! As for adding enemies, I think most would agree that Capcom should of added a very hard mode with the very easy mode. Because honestly, hard mode feels like normal mode to me. Real Survivor Mode just feels annoying because of the item boxes. Because if you play the original Advanced Mode on the 1996 Director's Cut, without using the highlighted advanced cheat, the game was actually hard. Don't stress yourself if this kind of mod is hard to do, I'll be happy with just more skin and audio mods. Just hope someone can figure out how to mod the arc sound effect files.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOK! now i'm here to crush hopes and dreams! rooms that have no enemies like the shotgun room don't have an ems folder and no file. so i cannot add enemies to them.

It's alright, but is the Remaster version totally different than the Gamecube version when it comes to modding? Because I saw the original modder's thread, and looked at some of the screenshots below it. I saw Tyrant, snakes and hunters in areas they weren't suppose to be in or areas where there weren't any enemies at all. Was it photoshopped or just different?
