Hello there and thank you for your wonderful program! I have one question: is it possible to rebind in-game keyboard controls with REHDHook? Seemingly REHD has keyboard binding natively without any external programs, yet on practice it is not good enough since for some reasons developers divided Explore and Shoot functions into two separate keys which is super unintuitive and annoying for anyone who played old PC Resident Evils or Silent Hills on keyboard. So I'm trying to find a way to make both Explore and Shoot functions accessible with the same keyboard key. Currently, no. I do not have any rebinding settings for the keyboard. Along with this, I have nothing made to remap what function happens when a key / controller button is pressed. This would require basically rewriting the input of the game altogether after finding all the said functions to call when said keys are pressed. Something you could do, if it works out for you, is use an emulation program for your keyboard to have multiple buttons pressed at the same time. So that when you press, say, A, B is also pressed to try and simulate what you want.

REHDHook v1.0.0.4Downloadwww.dropbox.com/sh/fmrx2apd7hp5xti/AACRCY97Vf7uOoXh6_3XABwha?dl=0Effects PluginOne of the most common things you may see today with game modes is post-processing effect hooks/wrappers. Things such as ENB, SweetFX, gedosato, and more. Effects brings the power of SweetFX to REHDHook. Effects is a post-processing plugin that uses part of SweetFX's source code and applies SMAA to the game. Along with the SMAA effect, Effects offers a collection of different shaders that can be enabled and disabled via an easy to follow configuration file. With Effects, you can alter the look of the game to suite your needs, whether you want it to be darker to fit a more evil tone, or lighter to brighten the screen for hard to see areas. You can edit the configuration of the Effects plugin in the file: \REHDHook\Plugins\Shaders\AA_Settings.h The following commands can be used while Effects is loaded: /effects on - Turns the effects shading on. /effects off - Turns the effects shading off. /effects reload - Reloads the effects configurations. /effects screenshot - Takes a screenshot with the effects applied. (The default Screenshot plugin will not take screenshots with the effects applied!) /effects edgemethod [0/1] - Sets the edge method used during one of the passes of the SMAA technique. (0 = Luma, 1 = Color)

Hm, is there a way to start the game with console being hidden by default? With v1.0.0.3.7 it was doable by adding /toggleconsole into # Load Default Plugins section from Default.txt in Scripts, yet with v1.0.0.4 it doesn't work anymore.

fpsfixfpsfix is a simple addon to apply a small patch to a game function removing an unneeded call to query the device for its current state every frame. Credits to verteks for his finding on this small patch. This addon removes the need to use his d3d9.dll file to apply the fix. Simply drop the whole fpsfix folder into your addons folder, located at: \REHDHook\Scripts\addons\ Then to load the addon use /addon load fpsfix The patch will be applied as soon as the addon is loaded. Hello again, I have one more question if I can. Is it possible to use Direct3D Hook in order to improve in-game shadow quality even more than it is now on the highest setting, kinda like Durante did with Deadly Premonition fix among other things? It appears shadows are pretty good in cut-scenes, like here we can see Jill's cap visor casting a healthy shadow all over her upper face area: Yet in gameplay sections it seems like shadow quality goes down significantly, here is another cap visor shot, as you can see, while Jill's eyes, cheeks and nose are all shaded, her forehead is somehow not: Also here is a shot that has been shown a lot in promotion materials to demonstrate new improved shadows: I've marked where plank shadows are clearly off on the shot, detached from the planks they belong to. So I believe it would be great to find a way to boost up shadow accuracy somehow if it is even possible.

The possibility is there, but I'm not that great with the more advanced side of D3D. So for now this is not something I'm personally able to do.

In the last FPS fix post that was made by verteks, he found the location of the background textures being created. However his patch, for whatever reason, was dubbed to only work with a cracked copy of the game. I took the time to look into his patch and made a better modification of it. Mine also is for use with a legit copy of the game from Steam.
For verteks' patch, he was altering the width and height of the function invoked to create the background texture(s) here:
sub_82C980(v4, 1, 1920, 1440, 1, 40, 0);
However, sub_82C980 is actually used for the other textures as well that can load between as little as 1x1 upto 2048x2048 and more. In the next version of REHDHook I have added a new feature to completely override this function and allow users to change not only just the background texture size, but EVERY texture size created. This first edition of the override, so it is fairly basic in terms of configuration. However if it is something people want more control of and find useful, I will extend it further.
For now the new configurations are as follow:
<!-- Texture Rendering Override Settings (Credits to verteks.) These settings allow you to override the texture creation parameters (width and height) that the game uses while creating the various textures. This can help with lower-end systems that have fps problems. This is not a guaranteed fix for FPS issues! The default settings vary per-texture. The main texture this setting overrides is: Width : 1920 Height : 1440 By enabling the 'all' override setting, REHDHook will force all textures that are created with the hooked function to the resolution you set here. Edit with care! Invalid settings can cause game crashes! --> <setting name="texture_creation_override_resolution">0</setting> <setting name="texture_creation_override_width">1920</setting> <setting name="texture_creation_override_height">1440</setting> <setting name="texture_creation_override_all">0</setting>
By changing texture_creation_override_resolution, you will enable the override width and height. This will specifically change the resolution of textures created at 1920x1440. If you enable the override_all option, this will enforce the width and height you give to ALL created textures through this function. For myself, I played the game through recently with all textures overriden to 800x600. The game play was a lot more smooth for me but the quality is definitely noticeable when using this feature. This feature is recommended specifically for those with poor performance / fps issues. Or for those that may want that old, gritty game look while playing the remake.
