Sure it can come across as rude at times but that is just the way some people get their humor on a forum. Newer members are more likely to get that kind of treatment for the most part since those members want to make a impression on what type of member they are going to be around the forums. They want you to get their kind of humor right off the bat. And you just admitted that you don't have thick skin, which explains why you would get offended so easily by such things, but I on the other hand while admittedly not have the thickest of skin have in fact enough to give a member the benefit of the doubt before expressing my disdain towards their initial post towards me when I really do not even know them. Especially if said member has been a part of the forum much longer than me and I don't know his posting habits as of yet. I basically have nothing against that kind of humor if one clearly signifies that it's just a joke. But maybe it's just the variety of people. I myself would never talk to a stranger that way. However. If one "reveals" his intentions then it's okay.

If they still respond rudely without explaining themselves then it is understandable from my point of view to get offended, but if they respond explaining themselves and how that is just their type of humor than ok. Sure some would still think its unacceptable but that is why as you just pointed out that there are a variety of people who take things in certain way. But you yourself admitted that you do not have thick skin which many do not and its completely fine, and it explains where you came from with your follow up response to Eddy's post, so now that we have a understanding of one another lets just drop this and let the topic run its intended course shall we?

I agree. I'm pretty sure Eddy is a great person and couldn't have known that I'm not so familiar with those kinds of responds
