Thanks for the videos, Jteghius. I'm probably tempted to get RE5. Game looks way better than I expected. RE6 looks like a decent port. Might've missed it in the videos, but was the frame rate capped at 30 for both titles?

Might've missed it in the videos, but was the frame rate capped at 30 for both titles? I think they actually did something else. They activated some kind of variable framerate (maybe a v-sync?) because Sectus mentioned to me that both games can actually go above 30fps when looking at the sky. He mentioned he found a framerate analysis video somewhere that found that. I haven't seen that myself though. I tried playing both games in handheld mode after the stream too. Framerate is much better there. Probably Cause the resolution in handheld is 720p instead of docked mode's 900p

Digital Foundry has the testing out and done.
Both games run 720p handheld, 1080p docked. Not bad resolutions.
RE5 frame rate is unclocked, but runs worse than 360. It tends to hover between 27-30 frames. AA is lower than Xbox 360. Load speed is slower than 360. Other minor changes like blue in the sky, lack of heat wave in the Executioner scene, etc. Not a bad port, but is unstable. Motion blur was also removed.
RE6 is of course worse, and runs like shit. Tends to hover around 25 FPS. Split screen is constantly below 20. There's other performance issues as well. The opening scene for the tutorial with the chopper firing was dipping as low as 17 frames. Completely unstable game. I will not be picking this up. The game is already terrible as is. I don't need terrible performance, too. Would encourage the same for anyone looking to get it.

I tried the demos myself on my switch. RE5 did stutter a little bit but it wasn't too bad, I overall thought it was a decent package, although asking 30$ a 10 year old game with a half-baked port is down right greedy on Capcoms part.
I was very unimpressed with the RE6 demo, the lack of AA makes for some pretty horrible jaggy edges, and the frame rate not atleast being at a solid 30FPS is unacceptable. I played both demos on Handheld mode, I can't imagine how horrible it'd run on docked with higher resolution, and split screen, I doubt such a sloppy job was done in house, I assume these ports are being out-sourced, but capcom just is as much at fault for approving this sloppy work

This hasn't happened to me in regular mercenaries yet though. It seems to occur when the framerate gets really bad (no mercy + prison will do that) But the system where it dynamically makes certain objects not render really seems to improve the framerate. Although the objects popping in is extremely glaring.
RE6 no mercy doesn't have single digit framerate a to my surprise.
I haven't tried either game in split screen though. But both games so far seem to have better frame rates than the demo even if it's only slightly.
As for the motion controls, the v1.0.1 version it preloaded came with the motion controls patch.

Uh...question. Is it normal for S.T.A.R.S. Chris to NOT have the 600 damage on his head melee unlike his other variations in United? Every other version of Chris has it but this one.
